Even a miracle of the King acting like a civilized being," the elder female said. Dan started to laugh so hard that he fell to a knee. "I believe that would be the biggest miracle of all time." He then turned back to the elder. "So, we are welcome here in your village?" The Elder and the others that had appeared were all smiling at him. A small female ran to Dan and grasped his hand. Dan looked down at the young Golem, then bent to her when she motioned to him. In a whispered voice she asked, "Can you really make us all better?" A huge smile appeared on his face as he said, "Let's see, OK?" Then the young one started to laugh as a light enveloped the both of them. Still laughing, she kissed him on his cheek, "It tickles. It tickles mom and dad," she said as her color grew better, as did she. A male and female nearby had tears of happiness as she was fully healed. Both of her parents were amazed when Dan healed the both of them too. This, of course, drew a huge crowd, well for the village. Many were excited as Dan laid a hand on the elder's shoulder as she started to gasp and grow better. A great cheer went up as the elder shook her head as she smiled. "By the gods, I haven't felt this well in a very long time." Immediately, a large group of people rushed toward Dan. As he laid his hands on them, he noticed that there weren't that many Golems. It actually made him a bit sad that they were as few as they were. He was almost finished when a very sickly female approached him. "Mister Mage sir," she started. "I know that my life is nearly over." Here she tried to take a deep breath. Coughing, Dan touched her as her color improved. "No, please use your magic to heal my baby." Dan shook his head, "I can do both, you are slightly healed now. The baby will need its mother as well as good health," Dan said as he touched her again for a few moments. Again she pulled away, shaking her head, "No, please heal her, I do not." Dan stopped her as he grabbed her for longer this time as she started to look far better. It was at that moment that she felt the baby start to move more. The female's mouth dropped open as shock took over her expression. That's the most that I have ever felt her move! Please finish, I never thought that a healer could do this." I blushed as I had never thought of myself as a healer. I placed a hand on her shoulder and she started to almost glow as her health improved. "Thank you Mister Mage, a live baby hasn't been born in the village in over twenty years. Mine will be the first since that time," the excited female said. Dan could only stare at the female with a look of horror. "I promise you that I will end this disease. I will also end the terror of the elf king." The female looked at Dan with a look of shock. "Sir, Mage, the gift you have given me and the village today is a blessing in itself." They were invited to stay as word was sent to the other tribes of Golems. "I could get us there in no time if you could go with me," Dan said. The female's eyes went large as she hesitantly nodded. He looked at Gre'ta and asked, "Can you stay here in case they are attacked?" Gre'ta nodded as Gan hugged her as she blushed. He touched all his companions and the Golem, then they vanished. When they appeared, it was far colder than it had been before. The female explained that they were way further north than most went. She then explained to all there who Dan and the females were. At first, only a few of the elders accepted 'til they were completely healed. After that, Dan was crowded quickly, many of the females were amazed at the pregnant Golem female. At least they were 'til another pregnant female approached Dan. When the fourth approached him, he smiled greatly. To him, this was a great start to healing the Golems. He was about half done when Gre'ta called him, telling him they were under attack. He immediately grabbed all his companions and wrapped the shadows. As soon as he arrived, he saw that more than a few trolls were attempting to breach the village. Gre'ta had taken a few but they and the Orcs were starting to overwhelm her. Dan put up a plant shield that slowed them down a bit, then he put a shield from all the other powers he had. He forgot that he had two light shields, though they held. Then the trolls started to throw the Orcs over, many were killed as they landed wrong though enough survived to attack. Seeing that they were so close to the village, he started to hit them with ice spears. His companions were firing their powers as well, taking a few down with him. He saw that several Orcs were about to overwhelm Gre'ta. He stepped behind her as they moved to attack her, using incinerate on them. Gre'ta had spun, hearing the Orcs releasing a double electric blast, nearly hitting Dan. Dan got a small tingle but ignored it as Gre'ta screamed at her error. She was shocked when Dan seemed to shrug it off as if it wasn't there and continue to fight. This time they fared far better than before as they finished in almost no time. This time, Dan actually disappeared, appearing in the Elf king's castle to see another smaller white elf directing things. Dan growled as he grabbed the elf's throat, lifting him high. "The simple fact that your king was injured as if he was nothing, should have been a hint." Dan just looked at the elf, then the elf screamed as three swords appeared, as well as the sword that was at Dan's back. Dan ran the elf through as the other three swords tore him apart. He felt around trying to find the King, smiling when he saw that the king was still unconscious with only an arm. He was about to flash out when he saw a head appear around the doorway. Dan stopped seeing the young elf. "Who are you?" Dan asked. The young female started to pull away when Dan stopped her. "I...I am a prisoner here, sir. Many of us were released as there weren't enough to watch us." Dan looked closely at the female, then thought of Kim'ta. Pulling, Kim'ta was there in moments. The white elf looked around in shock 'til she spotted the young female. Kim'ta's mouth dropped open as she rushed to the wide-eyed young female. "Aunty?" the young female asked. Kim'ta could only nod as they both descended into tears. "Are your mother and father here?" Kim'ta asked. The young female nodded, then in a low voice said, "momma, poppa?" A moment later, an older male and female light elf walked tentatively into the room. They both had huge eyes as they saw their daughter wrapped in the arms of her Aunt. They both motioned as they broke from their shock. A moment later, three young males came in and ran to Kim'ta, hugging her tight. Another moment later, an even older male and female came in the door. They both gasped when they saw Kim'ta. Kim'ta started to cry happy tears when she saw them. Dan had them all join hands as they vanished, appearing in the northern Golem village. Dan sat as slight exhaustion came over him. Awakening a few hours later, he contacted Gre'ta. She reported that there was no movement, so he brought her there. Dan bid all the Golem goodbye after another night of much-needed sleep. They appeared near the cave system where the city survivors had gone. The small girl that Dan had saved came running to him with happy news. "They found Papa!" she almost yelled excited. A surge of happiness went through Dan at the news. At least now he didn't feel as bad about the attack on the city. He still felt bad because even if most of them had hated and mistrusted him, he couldn't hate them. They visited for a few hours, Dan helping to establish several buildings that they needed. Many were so thankful not to be in the cave system anymore. They actually had a great proportion of a small city now that attracted a great many more survivors. Dan was smiling greatly as he saw the relief on the faces of the survivors, even those that arrived later. That was alright 'til a few light elf soldiers were approaching the cave/ new city. A shout from Gre'ta alerted Dan to the fact that soldiers were approaching. Dan tried to yell to Gre'ta to stand down when he saw that she was powering up to release an attack. Dan vanished, appearing in front of her just as she released her attack. Gre'ta screamed as her attack, Double electric Blast, actually struck Dan this time. "NO!!!!!!! DAN!!!" Was heard as a high current with the odor of ozone crackled through the air. Gre'ta fell to her knees as the attack hit Dan squarely in the chest. At first, she thought that she had vaporized Dan 'til she saw him get off the ground. He shook his head as he was tackled to the ground and kissed by a crying Gre'ta. "I'm sorry Dan, I couldn't stop, I, I thought I had destroyed you," Gre'ta stopped when Dan looked straight ahead, seeing a message {you have gained electric aspect.} "Huh," Dan said, then saw the message {you have gained the following spells.} Electricity Stun Blast Electric Spears Double electric Blast Electric Shield 2x Electric Shield Electric Aura "Nice spells," Dan said. "I didn't realize that you had seven spells." Gre'ta stared at Dan a moment, "are you telling me you have another aspect? Mine, Electricity? Danm, I thought that I had killed you!" A moment later, the rest of his companions appeared rushing to them. "Dan? Gre'ta are the two of you alright?" Gre'ta turned away from the others with her head low. "Yes we are," then in a lower voice, "No thanks to me." Almost all the females stared at her in shock. "Alright, what happened," Ella said. "I struck Dan with a low mid-range spell. I thought that I had killed him," Gre'ta said, her head still low. Tygan and En'tra looked at each other. "He has all the same spells that you do?" En'tra asked. Gre'ta looked up at the dark elf and nodded her head with a curious look. "Yes, as a matter of fact, he does." Both En'tra and Tygan looked at each other, then noticed that Kim'ta was staring at them. "Dear god," Kim'ta said. "He learns aspects and spells through osmosis." Both the dark and both the light elves turned to stare at Dan. Then, slowly at first, then with the rest following, they all knelt before Dan. "Sire," En'tra started. "We are so thankful that you chose us to help in your quest." They all had their heads bowed, refusing to look up. Dan had a look of pain on his face as he tried to talk all of them back onto their feet. "What in the hell is this? I am not a king or a god, stand please." "As you wish sire, what may we do to assist you?" En'tra asked. "This is not funny, why in the hell are you acting like this? Dan asked, his temper was starting to rise, nor did he notice that his skin was starting to glow red. "Sire, when you gained the eighth aspect, you are now classified as a grand mage. We do not wish for death, therefore we show you the respect we feel is do you. You are the first one in many centuries," En'tra explained. Dan's face dropped as he said somewhat softly, "If you really don't want to piss me off. Then stop this right now, or I'm going to get really pissed off. All ten of the females there, eyes went wide for a moment in fear. "Dan, you're not a bad person, but you have a hell of a lot of power. From where we're from I can only count four grand mages. That's a lot of power, especially as high as you have some of them," Ella said, slightly shaking. The other eight females turned to stare at Ella and Bell, then the questions started. "Just where are you from?" En'tra questioned. "Yes, I wonder as well. A few things you two have said have me wondering. Are you from the same world as Dan?" Tygan asked. Both of the witches turned to stare at Dan. Dan sighed, then started, "Yes, they are. They are some of a select few that still have magic in our world. A world I can not reveal nor take you to right now." All the females looked at Bell, Ella and Dan, shock apparent on all their faces. "Why the lie? No, I know why. You really are a good man, a good human." Here Tygan turned to the others, "They have been trying to protect us this whole time." "Are we that much of a joke to you, Dan?" En'tra asked with a hurt look on her face. "Are we that weak to you?" Here En'tra walked away, as did most of the others. Dan sighed and sat his head in his hands. "Well," he said, "As usual, I f****d up again. Geez, no wonder you wanted to kill me." Dan stood and looked at his two friends, "I'm done, being the joke, the nerd, the f*****g Spaz. Here you have power be happy," he then kissed the both of them, then turned. "Dan," a low voice said, causing him to turn back. "Please come back, you're the only male friend I have. Please come back, I really do need you," Bell said, tears falling from her eyes. Dan barely smiled, "We'll see. At present, I am not welcome here, not really by anyone. So we'll see, you know, that I don't stay when I am not wanted around." "DAN!" Bell yelled as he winked out. Bell fell into a pile of sobbing flesh, unable to stand, her great wracking sobs all that were heard. Eight other faces appeared looking to see what was wrong. All Ella could do was hold her sister as she also started to have tears streaming down her face. "Where is Dan? Danea asked. Ella looked up at the others, "He's gone nice work ladies. He's a human male, not a piece of stone. He cares for all of you, was afraid that knowing him was a death sentence to all of us. Now, we may never see him again, so yeah, real nice job all of you. Now, if you'll excuse me, my sister and I have to try and stay alive IF he decides to come back." With that, Ella and Bell walked away, Bell still crying as if her life was about to end. En'tra looked at the others, "We need him no matter what." "After what the hell you said to him and knowing his feelings, you are the f*****g last that he wants to see. Unfortunately, you and I are the only ones that can find him," Gre'ta said. Two sets of eyes watched the drama that was unfolding. Cre'sa and Jo'kan smiled to each other. "This may be easier than we thought," Crer'sa said. "I'm not that sure, he is still out there and has a lot of power," Jo'kan said. "We have to make sure that he is out of the picture." "Well, we have to find him to make sure. If we can take him out, possibly," Cre'sa said with an evil smile. They both waited a few minutes then took off to the west. Though they didn't notice that Gre'ta was watching. Dan had gone as far as he could southwest, to the spot where he had roasted everything for yards. He had the door knob out looking for where to put it. He did have reservations about Bell, who had nearly convinced him. With a big sigh, he reached forward and slotted the doorknob and turned it. As he thought, it opened, and he tried to step through. He barely managed to get through, then the door wouldn't close. With a shake of his head, he stepped out and pulled the door knob out, then watched the door slam shut. Dan threw up his hands yelling at the sky. He tried to reslot the knob but nothing happened 'til the last try. He got a message that the escape item had been tried too many times. Several hours were required to recover the charge. Again, Dan yelled at the sky. What the hell did the damn universe want from him? He wasn't special, not by a long shot. There was nothing about him that he deserved what was happening to him. He sat and dropped his head and shook it. He knew that he'd had bad luck most of his life, but this was ridiculous. He was unable to move, why was everything against him? He'd finally found the way home and had been denied. He sighed and made a small enclosure for himself. As mad as all the other females had been, he knew he'd never be welcomed back. Well, he thought, might as well practice for now. He knew that, that wasn't about to happen. A good hour's work, and he had a place out of the sun. He then started to use his power, working on the weakest of his aspects. He felt that he was going to die anyway, so he should take that evil elf king with him. He looked at all of them, deciding that his water/ice and nature he needed to work on. For an hour, he used water shield and water sword. He switched to an ice tomb and ice spears. He then moved on to an hour of plant guard and wood shield. He then repeated the same for another two hours, never dropping a spell. He breathed a sigh when he got a message. {you have gained the spell water bomb} {you have gained the spell ice sword}. He waited, then finally got the message {you have gained the spell poison thorns}. Hmmm, Dan thought that ought to help, he hoped. Quicker than he thought, he'd be tested later. Cre'sa and Jo'kan had managed to catch up to him. Dan was alerted to enemies from the grunts of the Orcs that were approaching. Dan had managed to kill the first thirty Orcs and three Trolls before a rush started at him. It was a moment later that he'd erected a wall around him that he used lava. All those in front of him were dissolved in no time. This afforded Dan to move up, gaining a bit of space before they tried to surround him again. s**t Dan thought, guess I haven't killed enough yet, he thought. He erected another wall that the trolls were starting to destroy. Shaking his head, Dan pulled every sword spell he had, causing more screams of death than before. Even with the seven sword spells that he had, they seemed to be unstoppable. He managed one time to shadow step though they seemed to not be far away when he emerged. Dan thought that he was going to die as he could feel his energy start to fade. He laughed because he thought this was the only real way to go. One thing he missed was the fact that an errant flame blast had hit and nearly killed Jo'kan. This had cut the production of the three races to half and Cre'sa couldn't seem to keep up. Dan, though, did notice that there didn't seem to be as many. He also saw that they seemed to be protecting a certain spot. Daqn grinned as he started to direct more than half his blasts in that direction. One shot hit so close to her, that Cre'sa felt the heat of it, breaking her concentration. Dan drew a deep breath when all the three enemies vanished, and he felt a shadow step. This made him curious and was about to follow when he felt his female companions. With a sigh, Dan tried to shadow step and nearly passed out. He dragged hisself into an impact crater and waited, he was sure he was about to die, then smiled, it didn't matter. Gre'ta and Shae'ten landed with four others. En'tra walked out of the shadows with three more, she was shocked that they had only had to step twice. They all looked at Gre'ta as her mouth was hanging open. "Here I thought he was only fighting a few hundred. By the gods! I saw this battle from the air. It's set across several miles, there are tens of thousands! "Dan's here but very weak," Marlena said. "We need to spread out and find him!" A worried Tygan said. En'tra's eyes narrowed, then Kim'ta's, "You are feeling it also," En'tra said, to which Kim'ta nodded. "Constructs, I feel the use of powerful dark and light magics. It feels very much like a mid-level dark priestess," Kim'ta said, looking at En'tra. En'tra concentrated more, and her eyes grew wide. "When I disappeared, they sent a stronger one. I know her, she is a merciless killer. Much as Dan described about many that he has met." "That's why he has such a low opinion of the people here. By the gods, I would also if I was treated as badly by most of the people as he was," Anna said with tears falling from her eyes. They spread out to search when Danea yelled that she had found him. She was at the edge of the crater staring down at Dan, whose hands were glowing bright red. She whispered to the others as tears started to fall. Dan was bleeding from several places, his face especially. "DAN!" Bell almost screamed when she saw him. "What happened to him!" Bell had started to levitate, shocking the others. At her yell, Dan's eyes cleared for a moment as the red glow started to diminish. Bell landed near him, though couldn't get closer than six feet. "Get away from me, Bell," Dan said sluggishly. "I'll only get you killed. I've almost killed the rest of them, and they're rightfully mad at me. Just go, let me die, got, got nothing left, let me die." With that, he passed out his energy very low. Tygan and Kim'ta were beside him immediately pouring healing energy into him.
