{KYRO}
"Where is she?!"
I stormed into the mansion, hoping Lumira would be the first person I saw. f**k, I should have torn that girl apart limb by limb when I had the chance.
"Welcome home, Beta Kyro," The housekeeper Stella greeted me, her eyes narrowed with concern. "Has Mirabel been found?"
Ignoring her, I took the stairs two at a time, desperate to see the love of my life.
Ama's teary voice over the phone had rattled so badly that I couldn't focus on anything on my way here.
"Kyro, relax!" Vance yelled after my retreating figure from the living room.
I turned halfway and pointed at him. "Don't you f*****g play that card with me, Brother." I hissed and retreated to my room.
There, I met Ama on the floor. Her knees were drawn to her chest, and her head was buried. The sound of her soft sobs filled the room.
A pang of hurt twisted my chest.
"Hey, hey baby," I said softly, crouching beside her and tenderly wrapping my arms around her frame.
She clutched my arms and her cry intensified. "Ky, Ky."
"Shhh...I'm here." I said softly, brushing down her hair. "I'm here."
"My life flashed before my eyes, Ky." Her tears made my belly tighten into a knot. "Could you believe Lumira was snooping through my things?”
My ears perked up. “What?”
“Y-yes. I asked her to help me take my luggage to your room. I was with Ma’am Stella downstairs and when I came up, I found her snooping through my things.” She said again.
I bit down on my bottom lip, fury rising from inside. “Did she take anything?”
"No," she confirmed. “But I was curious to know why she would be snooping through my things so I went after her. I kept asking why as she walked away and once we got to the stairs, she attempted to push me down.”
Ama could be anything, but not a liar. I knew Lumira was capable of hurting her. That wench was a demon. Ever since she stepped into this house, no one has had a moment of peace. It had been one chaos after another.
"Come here, baby." I straightened to my feet and pulled her with me.
She willingly rose to her feet, melting into my arms.
I leaned and placed a soft feathery kiss on her forehead before we left for the living room downstairs.
"Stella, fetch me Lumira this instant!" I commanded.
The housekeeper jolted to her feet from one of the dining chairs, fidgeting like a leaf. She seemed to hesitate and I wasn't having it.
"Are you f*****g deaf?" I barked at her. "Get Lumira here right now!"
"Uhmm," She scratched her head nervously. If only she knew how that inflamed the storm brewing inside me. "Uhm...Lumira is not home, Beta."
"What the f**k do you mean? Why would she leave the house when she's the main suspect of our sister’s kidnapping?”
“Kidnap?” Ama repeated after me. “What kidnap?”
“I will discuss that with you later, baby.”
“I didn't know you asked her not to leave the house, Beta,” said the housekeeper.
Those damn guards!
I turned to the front door and grabbed two of the guards, Gerrard and Butler. Without mercy, I dragged them inside and delivered a punch to each of their faces.
They grunted from the impact.
“Where is she?” I growled. “Where is that b***h, Lumira?”
“She is inside this house, Beta Kyro,” Gerrard said, still massaging his jaw from my punch.
“She didn't pass through the front door. We’ve been here all through.” Butler confirmed.
I flexed my jaw, my furious gaze piercing into their souls. “Get back to your positions,” I commanded and they returned outside.
I turned to Ama, and my voice became soft, “Go upstairs, baby.”
She nodded before ambling toward the stairs.
Seeing her limp made my blood run cold. And I gritted my teeth before barreling over to Lumira’s room.
To no surprise, Vance was in there.
He turned upon sensing my presence. "Kyro," My name rolled off his tongue in a calm, gentle tone.
I balled my fist. "Where is she?"
"Where is who?"
"Don't play dumb with me, Vance. Where is your slut?"
His eyes squinted with indignation. "Don't call her that, Kyro."
"Or what?" I squared him up. "You are going to fight me again, is that it?"
A sense of foreboding filled the room as both of us locked eyes.
"I don't intend to fight with you, Kyro," Vance admitted, his tone flat. "And I don't know where she is."
"You were there, Vance," I growled. "You listened to the call. You knew what would happen so you must have warned your little b***h to get out of the house before I arrived."
"We were together all the way back here, Kyro."
"You didn't text her?" I snarled. "You are a f*****g piece of s**t, Vance. You know that right?"
Vance's jaw flexed. He didn't like my statement, his reaction showed it all, but I couldn't care less.
"Kyro, I really don't want to fight you. So don't make me. Whatever happened between Ama and Lumira remains unclear until Lumira returns."
"So are you saying my girlfriend is lying?" I lashed out, slamming my palms against his chest. He jerked back without losing balance.
"Kyro," He called quietly, his tone filled with warning.
Before I could retaliate further, he had already exited the room, so I stormed after him ready to throw a fist if need be.
Protecting Lumira because she happened to be our mate was one thing, but defending her whenever she was wrong, was what I wouldn't stand for.
"Come back here, Vance!" I commanded, but he kept walking toward the living room.
“Vance—”
I paused in the middle of my statement as my attention drifted to Stella. She was on a call, and the voice on the other end sounded similar to that of my culprit, Lumira.
"Ma'am Stella, what do you think I should do? I am so scared."
"Don't be. You have to do what's right."
"Bring that phone here," Vance and I requested at the same time.
Stella looked up in our direction, her eyes white as though she had seen ghosts. She hurried over to us and dumped the phone in Vance's palm. "I think you might want to hear this, yourselves."
"Where are you, Lumira?"
I was going to speak over Vance, but when Lumira mentioned our sister's name, the sentence on my lips vanished before it even came.
"Come again," Vance ordered, his shoulder tensed and so were mine.
"I just saw two men hurled Mirabel into their car barely five minutes ago."
