Chapter Fourteen

I paced back and forth around the room as everyone sat in silence. Rayne stood near the balcony and sighed heavily as I turned to Hope.
"Carter is the daughter of Zeus! She's powerful as hell. There's no telling what he'll have her do!" I yelled.
"Zeus?" Ororo asked.
"I knew it was a mistake letting her leave. I should've went with my gut!"
"We wouldn't even know where to find her!" Rayne said.
"Even if we did, we'd be stupid to just go there. This is Carter that we're talking about!"
"Stop underestimating yourselves." Hope started. "You're both as powerful."
"If you haven't noticed, Hope..." I started. "Out of us three, I'm the one closest to human!"
"This is bullshit!" Rayne exclaimed. Before anyone else could say another word, the door to the office swung open. We watched as Carter made her way into the room with a group of people following behind her.
"Carter?" We all asked.
"People." She shot back.
"We thought you were gone!" Hope said as she placed a hand across her chest and sighed in relief. Carter walked over to the chair behind the huge desk and sat in it.
"I'm exhausted." She said as she took a deep breath.
"Lucifer has someone! If it isn't Carter then who?" Rayne asked.
"Did you all find any other dimensions?" Ororo asked.
"Go ahead, Zion." Carter said.
Clearing his throat, he began. "There's only three. It's a multiverse. Everything looks the exact same in each universe. However, there are many different beings in each universe."
"There's dimension one that has Gods, Goddesses, Mutants, and Aliens. There's dimension two that has mutants and the devils daughter. There's dimension three that has Vampires and Wolves." Carter explained.
"We're here to join the fight!" One of the people said.
"Who is this?" Rayne asked.
"Meet The Heroic 8!" Carter introduced. "This is Sarah, Kimberly, Mikey, Liam, Kasey, and Dillion!"
"8?" Noah asked.
"I'm the seventh." Carter said.
"Who's the eighth?" Hope asked.
The door opened as Carter rolled her eyes. "Me!" Melanie sang.
She walked over to where Carter sat and stood beside her with a smile on her face. Carter scoffed before looking up at her. "Act right."
"You don't rule me here." Melanie shot back.
"This still doesn't tell us who my father was referring to!" Rayne said loudly.
"Melvin!" Hope yelled.
"Who?" Kasey asked.
"He's someone after Journee. He's actually the reason why she's been through so much." Carter explained.
"He could use him as bait." Rayne mumbled. "The Antichrist is someone who is just extremely evil."
"You're the Antichrist." Carter said.
"Or am I?" Rayne shot back. "I didn't do what he wanted me to do so what if he's found someone to replace me?"
"Being the ruler of hell is your birth right." I said.
"But the Antichrist can change."
"Only when the Antichrist is dead!" Carter stated.
"That's the point! I'm already dead!" Rayne finished.
"She's right." Dillion said. "She's already dead. If this Melvin guy is the Antichrist then he probably did it by giving him what he wanted."
"He knows where Journee is so they will both get what they want. Melvin wants Journee dead..." Carter trailed off.
"And my father wants the world to end so he can take over."
"He wants to bring hell on Earth."
"It's already here."
"Journee is destined to die though. She must die. That's her curse!" Hope announced.
Before I could respond, Rayne turned towards everyone. "Move!"
"What?" Zion asked.
The door slammed open as Rayne ran forward. Her huge black wings shot out her back causing everyone apart from Carter and I to gasp. Carter stood up as everyone else moved behind the desk. Carter and I walked forward and stood next to Rayne as Lucifer stood in the doorway with a smirk on his face.
"What do you want?" Rayne growled.
Lucifer smiles softly before clapping his hands together. "This is sight to see! There's two sets of red eyes and my daughter here showcasing those enormous black wings."
"What do you want?" She asked again.
"I only came to visit and see how sorry you were doing. I stand corrected." He said as he looked behind us. "You cannot fight what is destined to happen."
"I can and I will!" Rayne shot back.
Lucifer looked at his daughter with eyes filled with hatred. "What a disappointment!"
"f**k you!" Rayne spat.
Lucifer prepared to grab his daughter only for Carter go step forward. "I wouldn't do that if I were you."
"Step back." He demanded.
"I dare you to touch her." A voice said from behind us. I turned around to see Melanie walking forward. She stood next to Carter as she looked at Lucifer in disgust.
"You are?"
"Daughter of Hades."
He smirked at her for a second before laughing loudly. "This is great. This is great!"
"Leave."
"I didn't come here for a fight. There will be no fight today. This is a wonderful sight to see though. I give it to you, daughter. You have a very diverse group of friends but you will lose. I'm offering you one last chance."
"She doesn't need your offer." I said.
Lucifer turned faced me and smiled widely. "You should mind your business, Raine. I don't think my offer was directed at you. I'll let your sister handle you."
"What?" I asked confusingly.
"This is why you should mind your own business. I'm enjoying the time I'm spending with her. She was exactly what I needed!"
"Sister?" I asked.
"I must be leaving now." He said as he walked to the door. I followed behind him as he turned the corner only to no longer be there anymore. I walked back to the huge office as everyone stood around panicking.
"It isn't Melvin but Journee's sister." Hope said. "I don't recall the former King having another child!"
I stood at the balcony window and Lucifer stood outside with a smirk on his face. He waved brightly before turning away and walking further from the palace. Suddenly, the laptop on the desk turned on causing everyone to quiet down and look at it. Slowly, I walked to the black laptop and stared at the screen as a picture of a girl appeared across the screen that had only one word underneath it: Zoie.
