The Cave

King Nicholai's pov:             As I was led into the cave by the rogues, I looked around at my surroundings. It was a gigantic cave with many passageways. I made a mental note to keep track of the path they led me through, I needed to remember how to get out once I escaped. After making numerous turns and going down random passageways, we eventually stopped. I was thrown into a room inside the cave and I realized they were not going to uncuff me as they all left me, but one. One of the rogues stayed behind to guard me. I tried to use my powers, but the handcuffs were neutralizing them. I sat on the floor of my cave room as I thought about what to do.         My first thought was that I needed to get back to Allison as soon as I could. I had promised her no more than four days away and I would return. What will she think if I don't return? I missed her tremendously and wanted to be with her now. The second thought I had was how was I going to get out of this mess? I needed to trick them somehow to get me out of these cuffs. That was the only way I could free myself. The other thing that crossed my mind was the safety of the castle. Were the rogues going to attack my castle, now that I was restrained? What if they attack my Allison? Is she in danger? Surely my guards have gotten out of the cages by now. Have they gone back to the castle? Or are they looking for me?                       Allison's pov:             I was sitting in my room with my mother, Nicholai has been gone for three days. He should be back tomorrow. He promised. As we was talking about me mating with the King, Samuel appeared at my door. He bowed his head to me and asked if we could be alone. My mother got up and left the room while I was looking at him curiously. "We need to talk." He said to me, seriously. Immediately I thought the worse. "What is it." I asked him. "The guards have returned, without the King. They were tricked and the King has been captured by the rogues." I gasped as I heard the news. "What are we going to do? How are we going to get him back? Do you know where they took him?" I asked in a rush. "Yes, we know where they went, I guess a few guards escaped the cages they were in and followed. They sent the guards here to let me know what is happening. I will personally go with them to retrieve the King safely." I was feeling a little better knowing that we knew where he was, but I also wanted to go and save the King. He was my  future mate after all. "I'm coming as well. I want to help bring him home safely. He is already going to be weakened without me for so long. I can help." Samuel was already shaking his head no before I could even finish my statement. "Absolutely not. Not only is it dangerous, but the King may kill me for putting you in such danger." He said to me and I knew he was right, but I still pouted and was angry for not being allowed to go.           Even though I wasn't allowed to go with the guards and Samuel, I still followed him down to the other guards. I was thinking the whole time how they could allow their King to be captured. The guards were suppose to protect him. Also, how did they capture him? He has power over the elements, it doesn't make sense.  I watched Samuel address the guards and figure out where they were going. They had to formulate a plan to defeat the rogues and get the King back. I found out that he was in a cave, but that the cave was huge with many passageways. It could take a while to find him and that there was a lot of rogues to fight off as well.              A plan developed as I was listening to the guards. Perhaps I could follow them and while they were fighting the rogues, I could slip into the cave and rescue the King myself. I saw the guard, David that I have grown familiar with and made eye contact with him while the guards were talking to Samuel. I got Samuel's attention and asked if David could stay with me. I would feel safer. He nodded yes and David walked up to me with a curious raise of his brow. I grabbed his arm and I told Samuel good luck and I ran up to my room. I needed to hurry in order for my plan to work. I explained my plan to David in hushed tones while we made our way upstairs. He agreed with me and waited for me outside my room. I made my way into my room and found some dark clothing and put it on. I put my hair up in a ponytail with a black hat on. The sun was going to set soon and hopefully they wont detect me as I follow them with David.              David and I quickly made it back downstairs in time to see the guards and Samuel take off down the long driveway away from the castle. I then jumped on David's back as he followed the guards. We had to stay back a little ways so that we wouldn't be caught, but close enough that we wouldn't lose them. Everything was a blur to me as we were going in vampire speed and I was getting slightly nauseous from the speed that we were traveling in. So I closed my eyes and rested my head on David's shoulder as he ran.              Within a day we made it close to the cave as I saw the guards slowing down and stop. David and I stopped as well about fifty feet from the guards. We hid behind some trees and watched as they slowly made their way to the cave's entrance. But before they could get to the cave about a hundred rogues came out and they started fighting. David then grabbed my arm. "Do not get close Allison. Rogues can't control themselves around humans. We have to go around the fighting and into the cave without being seen." I nodded my head and we waited a few minutes to figure out the best course of action. "We can go now while they are occupied with the fight. Climb on my back and I will run into the cave. Be cautious once we are inside, because other rogues may be in there along with their leader." David said to me. I was starting to get nervous and thinking that this was a bad idea, but it was too late now.              I climbed on David's back and in a second we were in the cave. There were so many passageways, we didn't know where to go, but David I guess decided that we would go through them all until we found the King. I was getting very dizzy going through so many passages at vampire speed, but we needed to find Nicholai. After about twenty minutes of going through different passageways he finally stopped. There was a rogue guarding a room, so we thought that he could be in there. David set me down and lunged for the rogue as I made my way into the room cautiously.              There was Nicholai. I was so happy to finally see him after so long. He lifted his head up as he heard me come inside the room. His eyes were as big as saucers as he saw that it was me. "What are you doing here Allison? You need to leave. I can't protect you here." He said to me in a rushed voice. "I'm here to save you." I told the King. At that moment David came into the room. He saw the King and bowed his head. "We must leave." David said to us both. "I can't use any of my powers until I am out of these cuffs and my energy is already drained since I have been away from Allison and they haven't given me any blood." Nicholai said to us. David then went behind the King to see if he could break the cuffs. He kept trying, but they wouldn't come off or break. I then looked at Nicholai. "We need to share blood." I said to him. He looked at me in shock, so I explained myself. "You need my blood to regain energy and hopefully get out of the cuffs. If you can't get them off then I need to protect you and myself with your powers." I saw it click in his mind what I was saying and he started nodding his head yes. Meanwhile David just looked confused at the two of us.             Since I did not have fangs to pierce his skin, Nicholai bit into his own wrist for me to drink his blood. As I started drinking, he bit into my wrist and started drinking my blood. It felt very intimate for me and I loved the closeness that we were sharing with each other. We both pulled away at the same time and looked into each other's eyes. We both leaned in at the same time and within seconds our lips were meeting in the middle. It was a very emotional kiss and I started crying as he kissed me so passionately. Our kiss was disrupted by a noise coming from behind me. I felt Nicholai grab me to get me behind him as he stood up to face the leader of the rogues.              "Well, this is an unexpected surprise." .
