Chapter 1—Emeline's Destiny!
"Mmnh!" I yawn, stretching my legs and arms across my bed. I rub the sleep from my eyes when I hear a knock on the door, fallowed by a voice. "Come in Isa..." I tiredly mumbled, addressing my roommate. The door opens fallowed by the sound of heels clicking. "Madam who is the Isa you speak of, it is me Helena." A soft voice says. I quickly sat up when my eyes were met by a girl my age in a maid outfit. She had short light brown hair and hazel eyes, with a tanned skin complexion. She takes a step towards me and I scoot away. "Who the hell are you!?"
I scrolled down till I could no more, I exited out of the chapter and went to check the status that said "completed". I dropped my phone to my side, and stared up at the ceiling. "Wow, I can't believe after two years if updates it's finally completed. I loved that manga." I then rolled over onto my stomach, picking my phone back up, "I'm just happy she ended up marrying the crown prince and not the William in the end, it took them way too long. I swear I hate slow burns!" I go the authors social media page to leave a comment about it.
Emeline's Destiny is by far my favorite out of your other mangas. Sad to see it go but happy about the ending. Although there is one thing I would change about it. I just wished Emeline wasn't so clueless all the time when it came to interacting with other characters. I feel like most of her problems and all the misunderstandings came from her being so oblivious even when it was super obvious. Like the garden scene in chapter 28, if it were me I would have definitely let the Crown Prince kiss me, without a doubt!
I hesitated before posting my comment, "I hope they don't think I'm being too rude ..." I thought to myself. I shook the feeling and pressed post. "It's okay if it's a little judgemental, constructive criticism helps people learn from their mistakes, not bring them down for it."
I power off my phone and turn off my LED lights with the remote, finally ready to go to sleep. "I hope to creator will make another story about Emeline's Destiny, I love that story so much, I wouldn't even mind a pointless sequel..." I said, fading out of consciousness and into sleep.
The Present...
"Madam what do you mean, are you feeling alright?" I ignore her question, looking around the gigantic room. Even the bed I was sitting in was huge. "Where am I, what have you done to me?! Bringing me to some historical place and even put me in a costume like some psychos!" I get out on the side of the bed opposite to them.
"Please Madam, calm down!" One of the other woman pleaded with me. "Why do you keep calling me that?!" I turn around running towards the vanity searching through it for something to fight with. I find a pair of scissors, raising them up. When I do that I see myself in the mirror and gt frozen in shock. My face looked different, prettier. My mid length brown hair was now long and black. My eyes a light blue color instead of dark brown and I had long lashes. I was even a bit taller than before. I dropped the scissors, looking at this foreign face. "It's kind familiar." I think, lifting my hands and touching my face, just to be sure it's really my reflection.
"Madam Katharina, are you alright?" Helena asked. "Kath...a...rina?... Katharina?!"
"M-madam, are you feeling alright, should we call the doctor?" She says waving her hand at the butler who then leaves. "Katharina..." I repeat the name in disbelief. Even looking into the mirror...I look just like her. Like Katharina Banvolia, a side character in my favorite manga. Emeline's Destiny.
"No way, it's impossible." I say to myself, still touching my face while looking in the mirror. All of a sudden an old bald man with a long white beard came into the room. He had small thin glasses sitting on the edge of his nose and a long white coat. Frantically fallowing him was another fairly middle aged man. Instead he was wearing a white long sleeve shirt with black pants and a vest. He had a full beard but a bald spot down the middle of his head. He looked worried and eager. But more over he looked like the main characters Dad from Emeline's Destiny, but the irl version. "My Lord, you here!?" Helena said, surprised.
"What is the matter of this, is Katharina ill? Is she hurting anywhere? Why have you summoned the doctor?" The "Lord" started kept asking more questions and not waiting for them to be answered.
"My Lord, Lady Katharina is not feeling her usual self is all. " Helena bowed her head to him. "Is Katharina alright father?" A voice came from behind the two gentlemen. Emerged from behind the door was a young man, tall and firm, very handsome too. He had the same hair and eye color as me. "A-ah! Young master Theodore—!" Helena was startled by his sudden appearance.
"Theodore?!" I repeated the name in shock, as if it were something strange and weird. "Theodore...Katharina... both of these can't be a coincidence, especially our looks. Everything about this is too much." I don't know what to think. I start getting dizzy even thinking about this impossible situation. "Madam, are you alright?" It was as if Helena's voice echoed through my head. All I could hear was the sound of my heart pounding and my heavy breathing, all of a sudden everything goes dark.
I wake up with the same people standing around me. "Ugh, what happened?" I sit up, placing my palm on my head that feels as though it's pounding.
"Madam, you were saying crazy things then all of a sudden you fainted! We were so worried!" Helena, the maid from before whined, clasping her hands together as if she were saying a prayer. Theodore placed the back of his hand on my forehead. "How are you feeling, are you alright now." He asked me with a worried expression.
I can't believe it, but it's true. This is Theodore, THE Theodore. Not only from his looks but even this behavior of being worried and sweet. Not in a romantic way, but in a sense of an older sibling protecting his younger one. It's how he acted in the manga Emeline's Destiny. I had a major crush on his character! "Theodore.... Banvolia?" I meant for it to sound more like a statement rather than a question.
"Yeah it's me...but why'd you say my full name?" Then is truly dawned on me. I was IN Emeline's Destiny. Something I never thought was possible. It isn't possible though, this is literally impossible!
"Sorry I made you all worry!" I laugh, scratching the back of my head. "I just had a bad dream is all." I give an awkward chuckle.
"Still you fainted, we have to make sure everything okay." The Lord of the house commented. Count Leonidas Banvolia, Emeline's biological father, and now mine as well. "Really father I'm okay, I'm probably just hungry, so I should hurry and eat breakfast right?" I say, getting out of bed.
"I'm sure everyone is already hungry. We shouldn't keep them waiting." I gave a smile, trying to reassure them. I remembered that Count Leonidas would invite Emeline to the family meals, Such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner or "supper" as they call it.
Leonidas sighed heavily. "Okay, but if we notice anything wrong, you'll be back in bed." I hummed in agreement while smiling. Count Leonidas is a very protective very paranoid father. The Countess of the House, Emeline's mother had died from poison and it didn't help the Emeline had gone missing since the age of four. When she had returned she was never let out of his sight, but he was like that with all his daughters anyway.
Me, Theodore, and Leonidas walked into the dining hall where four other people were seated. I recognized each one of them. The girl sitting on the second seat to the right was Amaranthine, Emeline's second older sister, Amara for short. Sitting across from her was Nathaniel, Emeline's second older brother. The next two sitting next to Nathaniel was Winston and Wilson, Emeline's younger twin brothers. I sit on the first seat on the right and Theodore sits across from me while Leonidas sits at the head of the table. Amara and Nathaniel both have blonde hair and green eyes like the late Countess while all the other children has black hair and blue eyes like the Count. Emeline had red hair and blue eyes though and her face looked more their mother's.
The servants enter with trays filled with our breakfast and beverages. "Good morning my Lady." The head of the kitchen, Miss Reyna, greets me once she comes my way. "I trust you've had a good start of the day." Her smile seemed genuine which was a little weird for me since in the manga she was one of the many bullies Emeline had in the house.
Most of the servants didn't like her since servants are usually commoners not beggars or peasants and that's exactly what she was when she was missing, a peasant. Since her status was lower than their's before she returned they didn't like her "peasant" like behavior and speech. Most felt she wasn't good enough to be a noble lady. Also a lot of the commoners felt like they were better and above her. Most commoners can read basic literature while peasants are usually illiterate, so they would make her feel stupid while she was being taught how. I will have to get used to the servants being nice. After all they did adore the family, just not Emeline.
"Yes I have, thank you." I smile back in the calmest way I could. Katharina was always a nonchalant type of character. She never lost her composure, so the scene I made this morning did no justice to her usual calm expression and tone. "Sister I heard you had a fright this morning? Are you quite alright?" Nathaniel asked, while cutting into a pancake on his plate.
"Yes, I'm quite alright, just had a bad dream is all, I'll be fine." I reassure him, getting annoyed from everyone pestering me with questions while I'm tryna eat
Suddenly a servant entered the room, bringing a letter placed on a silver tray to Leonidas. He took the letter, using the small knife on the tray to cut it open. The servant handed him his reading glasses as he looked it over. "Hmmm..."He hummed at whatever the letter said. "What is it father?" Theodore asked, also noticing Leonidas's reaction. "Well, Count Frederic's daughter, Louisa, is having her debut in a week. Amara you're friends with the girl are you?" Amara nodded in excitement. "Yes! Oh father please allow me to go, I haven't made a public appearance since my debut!"
Leonidas took a deep breathe and sighed. "I'm not sure, anything could happen once you leave."
"But Father! Anything could happen while I'm home too. How shall you act when one day I am married, or will you forbid me from that as well." She pouted. "You know how I feel about you all leaving the gates." After what happened to Leonidas's late wife and then Emeline, his child, I understand why it would be difficult for him to trust for his girls to leave out the house. Even is the manga, it was crystal clear he just didn't want to lose anyone else.
"That's not true! You are always okay when it's brother going out but whenever it's us girls you—"
"Father, if I may intervene," I get in the middle of their argument. "What if me and Theo and Nathaniel all went with her?" I remember Amara saying she hadn't made an appearance since her debut once Emeline was having her official debut a few months after she returned. I might be changing the story a bit but how much damage could it possibly cause? Plus I don't want to wait for Emeline to show up and then wait months for her debut.
"Theodore and Nathaniel will never let you out their sight?" He looked towards the boys. Nathaniel was reluctant but Theo convinced him. "It will be good to go out for non buisness related matter. As Well as staying couped up in the house will drive our sisters mad." Nathaniel sighed, then nodded in agreement. Theodore and Amara cheered while I remained composed, giving a simple smile and nod. I felt proud of myself, being able to control my facial expressions.
Later that day I sat on the edge of Amara's bed as she tossing out clothes her maids had to pick up and hold. "What I wear HAS to be perfect. I could end up being courted at this debut!" I laughed at how much she was being a drama queen. "Maybe we should ask father to let us go into town and buy dresses? No he already agreed to the debut, going out infront of commoners will really give him a fright. Maybe we should call for a seamstress and order our clothing."
"Yes, Ms. Abigail. We'll call her tomorrow morning, I have some business I need to attend to." I say getting up. "By buisness you mean play with your bird right?" She raised her eyebrows. I'd almost forgotten Katharina had a pet Crow, named Donn after the god of death. "You saw right through me." I laugh. "Yeah, we're sisters after all." She gave a playful wink before going back to her closet. It's weird seeing Amara act like an actual sister. In the manga she was always making fun of Emeline and picking on her.
I head back to my room, I enter and just like she said, Donn was sitting in his large cage. Yet I didn't come for him. I get papers from my desk and started writing down everything I remember so when Emeline returns I can fallow the story correctly and she will end up with the crown prince again, right before my eyes! It will be like a live action version. A sequel almost. Just like I asked for before I came here.
Maybe that's why I showed up. Once I get home I'll be sure to thank whatever magical genie sent me here. Maybe that's how I return, by finishing the story!
I get to writing, cramming in everything and anything I remembered about Emeline's Destiny, circling the major events.
After I was finished I took my time ready each major and minor event when I stumbled upon a particular one. "Emeline father locked her up in her room after her sister's death. "Sister's death?" I remember this in the story, just as her siblings begin to accept her, one of the older sisters died in a carriage accident that she was also in.
It was her only sibling who was kind to her since the beginning, the only sibling who she had a good relationship with. That sister was—
knock knock knock
"Lady Katharina?"
