Chapter 6 "May the grace of the lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the sweet fellowship of the holy spirit be with us now and forever more, Amen." The church chorused signifying the conclusion of the service. It was silent for a minute before it became noisy. "Good afternoon, mummy Enny!" My mum called out to Enny's mom who was obviously trying to avoid been cornered by anybody. But knowing my mom, she had to talk. Even though Enny and I were good friends, our mothers hated each other's guts, they bickered and argued about the silliest and littlest things. "Ore mi{My friend}, so you didn't want to greet me today?" My mum said grinning and just like that, I knew that she was up to something. It was something about Eniola's scandal, the news already left Royal Priesthood and had been heard everywhere. "Sorry, I didn't see you." Enny's mum said plastering a fake smile on her face. These women! "It's okay. Enny, how are you?" My mum greeted Eniola who was hiding behind her mum and didn't respond to her greeting. "I heard about what she did. I hope her dad isn't taking it in a difficult way sha. We have to take it easy on these children." My mum said in all sincerity. Enny's mom was just like her daughter, always acting and feeling so holy. To her, she was the holiest woman, the best mentor and parent for her children. She believed that her child were well trained and good mannered than other children, she even brags about her child been one of the best students academically which was true but then isn't there a difference between academic and manners? There was a time when she even told my mum that we lacked home training and so she was going to teach my mum how to train us or better still, she'd help in training us. If you are in this Yoruba Nigerian society, then you should know that it is a big insult to tell a mother that she didn't train her children properly. Now imagine what my mum who acted and think like a normal Yoruba woman must have felt. What I didn't understand is why they were attending a church like ours that doesn't even think scarf for females is a necessity, they should have found a church that befitted their holiness and perspectives. "Mummy Jide, my daughter was framed ni o!" Enny's mum said defending her daughter. This woman never ceased to amaze me, did she just say that? "Ehnehn, who framed her? So the person downloaded the video on her phone, held her hand to click on it and then watch it in school?!" Mum asked rhetorically, mocking her. She should have just accepted defeat and correct her child not cover up for it. "Mrs Gbadamosi, the pastor needs your attention." Uncle Gbenga, one of the church ushers called on Enny's mom and she left immediately to heed to pastor's call while panicking. That was one other thing about Enny's mom, she feared the pastor so much and placed him on a higher scale than God. She did practically everything and anything to please him. My mum also left to attend the women's meeting while I tried to have a conversation with Eniola. Ever since that incident at school, we had been ignoring each other but I thought It was time to act matured and finish the unreasonable misunderstanding. "Hey." I greeted while Enny acted as if she didn't hear me. It felt like I was talking to a stranger. "I am talking to you!" I snapped tapping her shoulder. "I heard, I just don't care!" She shouted at me and went back to ignoring me. I was done with her stupid childishness. Who does she think she is? "What is your problem? What's with the unnecessary attitudes! Just cut the crap and be forward here." I shouted already pissed off. "Why won't you leave me alone, ehn?! I don't need your pity friendship! I don't even want to be friends with you anymore. You are such an hypocrite! Don't ever talk to me or even greet me again!" She snapped as she stormed away. Was I the only one thinking that this girl must be psychologically and mentally sick? Why was she acting as if I was the one who told her to watch the p**n video or the one who told a teacher that she was watching such a video? Don't forget to VOTE AND COMMENT... It means alot.
