Chapter 10 I was now an official RPHS hostelite. A whole month had passed since my first day. Peace still hadn't had her revenge, she tried at every slight opportunity to humiliate or embarrass me but I was always sharp to retaliate quickly. We hung out though and that was just because she was friends with Queen so it didn't mean that we were automatically friends too. It was a Thursday and dinner was always beans as usual so I was on my way out to buy bread to eat with my jam. "Don't worry, I'll pay for her." A masculine voice said behind me as soon as I reached for my pocket to bring out the money, just after taking the bread. I turned to see Ore standing behind me staring at me. Did he just wink? The butterflies in my stomach were fluttering. "Thank you." I said not bothering to turn down his offer, who would have refused such a offer sef? Definitely not an hostel girl who would be glad to keep any amount of money for another rainy day. Soon, we were walking side by side down the path that led to the females' lodge. It was very dark outside already but there were still a few students hanging outside the lodge, I had never been outside that late. "So thank you for walking me down here." I said stopping and expecting him to turn back already. "You are welcome. How could I let such a pretty damsel walk down this dark path alone?" Ore said with his charming voice. Okay, so are you thinking what am thinking? Are we thinking the same way? Do you also think that Ore may kinda like me? The cute and brilliant Ore likes the slim and plain Tiwa not the curvy and fine Queen or the tall and busty peace, not even the beautiful Cynthia, he liked me. I was mentally doing a victory dance, this was a great achievement for me. Teenage hormones doing the worst. I couldn't wait to tell Queen and others especially Peace, she was definitely going to commit suicide. "I have been noticing you for sometime now. You are pretty and have a model-like figure." He complimented again, if he threw one more compliment, I might actually melt like a cube of sugar thrown inside water. "Thank you." I replied shyly, staring down at my feet. "So I'll see you around?" he asked dismissively. "Yeah sure!" I replied as we went our separate ways. I was on cloud nine, it was such a big deal that Oreoluwa actually talked to me much more complimented and even paid for my food. I suddenly felt full, hunger vanished. I 'dance-walked' into my room throwing the bread on my bed as I sat on Queen's bed instead. "Queen, you won't believe who just talked to me!" I began excitedly. "Korede Bello?!" Queen said jokingly. "Hunhun, Kiss Daniel ni! Be serious jhoh!" I pestered. "Oh God! Tiwa, just go straight to your point!" She snapped at me impatiently. "Oreoluwa just talked to me!" I said jumping on the bed. "Okay? So how is that a big deal?! He talks to me everyday. Is he Buhari?" Queen said nonchalantly. It's more like she talks to him not the other way round but then what was my business. "Its a big deal because he actually asked me out!" I lied. Queen's countenance changed drastically to anger and mockery. "In your dreams, Tiwa! You think I'll believe that Oreoluwa actually asked 'you' out. Please, say something else." I suddenly felt rage boil through me. Does this mean that she thinks that I'm a low standard for Ore? "Whether you believe it or not, Ore asked me out, so deal with it!" I snapped as I went to sit on my bed. Even though he didn't actually ask me out, he was definitely about to with the way he threw me compliments like that. A girl could always hope. ****** Don't forget to vote and comment.
