One week had passed, and I was still yet to do what Stella had pleaded that I helped her with. But how could I, when for the past few days, I and Nicolas were back at it. I couldn't tell if he was fully back for me or he was faking it so i don't fulfil my threat, but all that mattered was that I had him by my side and I was happy again. I stretched lazily, my hand brushing against the soft sheets as I turned to look at Nicolas. His chest rose and fell steadily, his face serene in sleep. For a fleeting moment, everything felt perfect, like it used to be. But perfection came at a cost. The guilt, buried beneath layers of denial, clawed at the edges of my mind.
