Blu’s Poem #2
Hey, I said hey
See I got trapped in a breeze
The one where the ocean meets the seas
See I used to be… Me
The chubby kid with no teeth
Then they asked me what I wanted to be
A dentist, an actor wasn’t for me
Trapped but not in one of those metaphorical seas. – On the shore where
I chock on seaweed.
The seaweed of repressed memories.
Hey, I said hey
I’m invisible
I haven’t found my label
See I wanted to be an artist, but all I could draw was this…
Then I wanted to be a singer, all my notes turned out flat not like Beyoncé, nothing like that
And I wanted to be a swimmer but I always a afraid of a the trigger,
Leaving me a lap behind while I tried to butterfly
So I wasn’t a sports knack or talented
I faded in the back .
Hey, I said hey,
See I don’t like change
Content in my bubble, with my green dress, I was kinda subtle
Now I’m left feeling like leather; a little dead but a bit better
See I gained a bit of control
Used to use a blade to fill up my soul
But now I’m on a roll, only use one cut to make me feel whole
Only need one drop of that scarlet blood to feel numb
But it’s not like it matters cause I’m just a number, right hun?
Just a number chasing paper until she’s in a casket.
Disguise modern day slavery, damn I thought we were past it.
Hey, I said hey
I realised I can’t trust anymore
Drowning in lies and pipe dreams, living on the inside
While the rest of you have goals to build a family and to buy a home
But this isn’t a joke
Wanna hang yourself with your own rope?
I brought enough for you and me both
But I want more
But you can’t have more if you’re alone waiting for the closed door
To open, for you all expenses paid world tour,
As a side chick because he always leave the trash at the door.
Hey, I said hey
I’m done playing these mind games
I need to rearrange or rehabilitate or revise my fate
Because at this rate I just feel like an unhappy modernised ape
Just a puppet in a game
Let me feel a drop of rain before I go insane
Midlife crisis of the youth of today,
Hey does that sound like a state update?
Hey, I said hey.
