Chapter 3: Alas- “Ace of Spades”

          Timothy weapon is a gun, shield and a dagger, while Aella equip a bunch of daggers around her waist and 2 katana in both of her hands.

Timothy and Aella circling each other, planning and predicting each other’s movements before charging. They start some pep talk.

Timothy: Aren’t this is the first time everyone witnessed our training battle?

Aella: Yeah, and this might be our last battle so let’s end this shall we~

Timothy: You’ll never change, but I changed and I improve and lemme show you some of my moves. So, “May I have this Dance?”

Aella: It’s my pleasure Ace of Club. *smirked*

Everyone witnessed their graceful moves while fighting each other, they never see them fight like this before. Devian is surprised how skillfully Aella in fighting, she doesn’t even have a shield! Yet she can evade and penetrate Timothy’s attack.

 5 minutes later, Aella kicked Timothy’s gut and Timothy found out that Aella almost cut him by her katana. Aella’s throw her 3 daggers at him and he blocked it but he saw Aella is on front of him so fast and she gave uppercut to his jaw. Timothy stumbled backwards and Aella tries to kick him on the side of his face but he expects she will attack again so he’s prepared this time, and almost punch her on the gut. Timothy shoot her with his gun but she dodged it and some of the ammo are sliced by her katana… Aella smiled and start a conversation between them.

Aella: You almost got me right there. I’m so proud to you Ace of Club.

Timothy glared at her, he knows she’s teasing him, she didn’t even got hurt and she just keep dodging his attacks. He tried to calm himself down to be more focused on their fight and say.

Timothy: You are so elegant as always milady… but…. STOP MAKING FUN OF ME. I KNOW YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS ACE OF SPADES!

Aella’s eyes falls on his icy gaze but she’s not affected by his deadly aura.

Timothy: Let’s start the real show sha—

Before he can finish his sentence, Aella charged at him and instantly in very fast speed Aella is already at his back and place her katana on his neck and point her dagger on his chest. He felt her bloodlust and they freeze at that moment and he saw her dark eyes until Timothy surrender to break the tension.

Aella felt a relief when he surrendered to her but her gaze fall on Timothy’s neck and chest dripping a little blood. She bowed at him and apologized.

Aella: I’m so SORRY!!!

Timothy: It’s ok “Ace” it’s just a little blood, nothing to worry about.

Aella grabbed his wrist and pulled him inside the clinic, she asked the nurse to give her the first aid kit and she put a bandage around Timothy’s neck and put a cotton then tape it on his muscular chest. Timothy looked at her and say.

Timothy: Ty Ace. You are so thoughtful and kind as always. And by the way, when you try to cut me that time, I know you would cut me but you missed it on purpose.

Aella: Eh? I just really missed it, that moment…

He knows she’s lying and he saw a look of a child who is worried on her face, he finds it cute to her even many people judging her by the outside of her look.

Aella: What’s with that face “Club”?

“Club” is her nickname to Timothy.

Timothy: Nothing. I’m just thinking how everyone finds you ugly but you have a beautiful and kind heart. I’m so proud of you not letting those painful words get through you.

Aella: Oh! shut up Club!

She punched him in the arm, she and he laughed. She smiled at him and replied.

Aella: Well I’m already immune to the feeling of pain and I already experienced worse.

Timothy’s face fall, he knows what Aella’s talking about. Even he is her rival on ranking of being the best agent, still he respects her as her best friend. He patted her back and comfort her.

          When they go outside the clinic and they both saw Devian waiting for them, who looks like a superfan and a stalker…

Aella: What’s up Devi?

Devian trembles in front of her and try to form a decent word…

Devian: YYo-ouu … d-aa Ac---

Timothy: Bro, try to calm down first before you spoke…

He takes a deep breath.

Devian: Aella I never thought you are the Ace of Spades… Why you didn’t tell me? I mean You Are RANK 1!!!

Aella: I just don’t want to brag about it…

Timothy: It’s important to us not to brag our ranking but, I didn’t mean to say her “alias” on that moment.

Devian: So… all this time when I trained with you…

Aella: ughh…

She blushed and avoid their gazes. Timothy know she’s shy and embarrassed right now so he changed the topic.

Timothy: How’s your exam Ace?

Aella: It’s good….

Timothy: Good???

Devian is trembling and so nervous because he can’t believe that the 2 prodigy is right in front of him!

Aella: Yes, good...

Timothy: I guess you got a Perfect Score?

Aella: Ugh… yeah.

Timothy: Btw on Sunday we have a field trip. Are you—

Aella: Yep! I won a bet with Sir Ford, so he’s the one who will pay my expenses in field trip.

Timothy: Eh? He’s so unlucky, well see yah on Sunday. And how about him? Is he one of your classmates?

Aella: Nah~ he’s my neighborhood friend and somehow he is willing to be an agent so he become an agent here last month, he is pretty new here but he has a talent.

Timothy look at Devian and smirked at him.

Timothy: That’s a big compliment coming from you Ace

Aella: I’m just being honest

Timothy: Whatever you say. Btw wanna lemme ride you to your home?

Aella: Sure, if you’re willing

Timothy: Ok! I just need to go to my next training. See yah later Ace

Aella salute at him and wave to him as goodbye.

Devian noticed that Timothy has a crush on Aella or is he just imagining things… so he asked her.

Devian: Is he having a crush on you? Or am I just imagining things?

Aella: *sigh* he did confess to me before… but I told him that’s he is like a brother to me and good thing that he understands it.

Devian is shocked because he didn’t think that someone would having a crush to her with her look. He is just being real.

Aella: What’s with that face? Didn’t expect that someone handsome as him would have a crush on me?

She read his mind as always.

Devian: … Well why you didn’t grab the chance to know more each other until you like him too. Or are you a lesbian?

Aella:  PFFT! What? Hahaha first I’m not a Lesbian. It’s just I’m not interested in falling in love and I think I’m Asexual.

Devian: Aw pity you! But seriously you never have a crush in your whole life or fall in love???

Aella: Nah~ and where is this question is coming from? Why you suddenly interested in my love life all of a sudden?

Devian: Nvm me

She looked at her cellphone to check the time and then she looked at him and said.

Aella: Well it’s seems you’re next in this fight. Goodluck Devian! Remember our training ok?

Devian: Yes Aella!

Aella left Devian alone and rushed in her next training.

Late at night, Timothy drive Aella to her home.

Aella: Thanks Club for the free ride.

Timothy: Anytime Aella.

Aella leave the car and Timothy didn’t leave not until he saw Aella go inside the house. But before she opened the door of the house, her auntie dragged her stuff outside of the house and slap her hard. Then her Auntie shout something to her. Timothy got outside the car and rushed to her and assist her things, Aella’s face is painted with sadness but she didn’t dare to cry. Timothy hugged her and asked.

Timothy: What happened?

Aella: Well last night, the bastard (her uncle) harassed me so I punch him in the face and he got knocked out. As expected, my Auntie will believe my uncle that I seduce him.

Timothy: And this is the outcome.

There is a long silence between them. Timothy cut the silence.

Timothy: So… where do you plan to live now?

Aella: Dunno, I plan to sleep on the street. Cause I’m really tired right now.

Timothy: You can take a rest in my house if you want.

Aella: That’s so generous of you but—

Timothy: Don’t worry I don’t mind it and I am sincere.

Aella: Ok if you say so…

Timothy and Aella got to his house and after Aella organized her stuffs she fell asleep.
