In Between

 1950   "I never thought you're a romantic type Alerick," Aldwin teased. He was sitting under the huge oak tree atop the cliff overlooking the peaceful sea that surrounded the rich town of Lazuli with Aldwin. It was late afternoon, and the two young men decided to hang out at their favorite spot. "Shut up. I'm merely explaining why I don't date anyone," the darkhaired young man answered, glaring hard at him  Aldwin shrugged his shoulders, lying back on the soft grass and staring at the darkening sky. "You could have any girls you want, boys even if you swing that way; they're throwing themselves at your feet, you know." "Don't I?" "And here I am thinking you're asexual," the blonde young man added, laughing a little with his assumption. "Who would've thought Alerick Montgomery believes in fate?"  "You." "Me?" "You should know, because you have found yours. I wonder. If you never met Katherine, would you be as happy as you are now?"  "Well, that's a different story…" The young Montgomery scoffed. "And now it's different because it's you." "Because I'm not as complicated as you." "And now I'm being complicated." Aldwin sighed, "Fine, but I just wonder who would actually catch your attention. Is there even a possibility that you'll find what you're actually looking?" "I'll know it when I met them," Alerick said, turning his gaze to the now darkening waters of the sea and the colorful sky reflected on it. "Until them, I won't settle for less…" "And you're going to make it more hard Al, this destine person you want. What if this person doesn't come within your lifetime?" Alerick shruggs. "You're soooooo romantic!" "Shut up! It's not funny. I'm completely serious." "You're going to get over with that fantasy of yours Al. Believe me. As a Montgomery, you don't have a room to be choosy." "Let's see. Let's see."
