I was surprised that I managed to fall asleep today, but not surprised at all that I woke up only two hours later, unable to return to that deep slumber I was craving so much. The dull, grey ceiling above my bed was something I had memorized in detail already. I could point out where every bump and scratch was, even with my eyes closed. Once again, I did not feel like trying to fall back asleep when I knew it was hopeless. It was time for another nightly excursion. I took them more often now and no one really bothered to stop me from taking them, so I deduced that I was most likely allowed to do it.
