I took a deep breath and knocked.
Wartime meant that our house was often visited by alphas, soldiers and lunas. It was a nice distraction to keep ourselves occupied with while we ignored what was keeping us apart, but today the distraction was gone. There were no visitors, not even surprise ones, and for the first time in months I felt calm and at peace. Well, I felt like that until I made the final decision to come here.
“Enter.” Aris called out.
He was sitting behind his big desk, his eyes still focussed on the papers in front of him. When I was nervous or if I really focussed, I could feel when Aris was nearby. But as he was just reading his reports and expecting a servant or guard to tell him something, he was rather surprised to suddenly see me standing there.
“Are you busy?”
