MY CLUMSY MATE

CHAPTER 4 The clumsiest human he ever met

Syl reached his home after a drive of around 1 hour. His thoughts were in chaos after meeting Elli.

It was his packhouse which he built with his own hard work for his pack members and a small colony where several other families lived with their children and in the packhouse, Syl lived with a few youngsters including his beta and gamma who were his childhood best friends.

Other than youngsters his father Adam Lockwood, former Alpha of the Crescent Moon pack lived on the top floor of the packhouse who usually stayed in his room and didn't meddle in any matters and left everything to his son after losing his power and departing from his mate he fell in a deep grievance.

It was already late in the night when Syl entered his house and directly went to his room, had a shower, changed in a casual t-shirt and track pant, and despite being tired didn’t lay down to rest but he moved towards his study, his favorite place, reading soothes his mind and relaxes him.

Just a few minutes had passed when he was engrossed in ancient books on werewolf their powers, magic, and witches, (he usually studied about the werewolf, witches, magic, the supernatural world as much as he could because as he turned 18 the same day their enemies had attacked them and Blake Nathan locked all of their powers with his black magic that’s why he wouldn’t get enough time to know about all his powers since then he always tried to gain as much knowledge as he could so he can be ready for the upcoming war and defeat his enemies).  

Suddenly someone tapped on the door, Syl knew who it could be, he just blankly said, “Come in.”

In comes Jack Wright, he and Syl are childhood friends and he is an amazing beta of the Alpha Syl.

A faint smile appeared on Syl’s lips when he saw Jack with a food plate, “Why do you always have to do this, Jack.”

Jack is the only individual left behind in the packhouse who really cares for Syl. It doesn’t mean rest all do not care; they do, but Jack is exceptional; he takes care of Sylvester’s every single thing like a wife to her husband because Syl is least worried about himself. He is just burning himself in the fire of revenge with his enemies and to give his pack a peaceful way of life.

“Because you are least worried about yourself.” Jack immediately replied after placing the plate in front of his table and picked the book he was reading and placed it aside.

Syl watched his activities blankly until he was doing it, then released a sigh and mummered, “Thanks,” and started eating food silently.

Jack took the book which Syl was reading and started flipping its pages. He read few pages then placed it where it was, staring towards Syl in a pitiful gaze and released a sigh.

“Alpha till when will you look down on yourself for the thing which was out of your control in the past.”

Jack knew he felt guilty for the current situation on the Crescent Moon pack.

Syl kept the fork down, looked towards him keenly, and said in a hoarse voice, “I can’t see my pack members living in hell, regularly messaging me to save them from living in hell and here their family members are crying in the separation from their clan, once upon a happy and the most powerful Crescent Moon pack is now completely scattered.”

“Yes, I know they are in trouble but that doesn’t mean you will burn yourself alive, you also have your life, when will you live for yourself?”

Jack is the only person left in the packhouse who thought about him other than his father, who actually cared about him but showed little because he was much more broken than him and drowning in guilt by thinking that he had caused this disaster on his pack and in all that his mate has been killed.

“But they are all my responsibility,” said Syl seriously.

Syl is always sincere about his responsibilities.

Jack shook his head seeing his alpha who din’t want to think anything other than his pack, he thought is it that they are fortunate of the Crescent moon pack to get an alpha like him or unfortunate for a person like him, who is least bothered about himself.

Jack said with a determined tone. “Yes they are, but that doesn’t mean you start assuming yourself responsible for everything. Whatever happened 3 yrs. ago wasn’t your fault. You just turned 18 that day, neither you got time to know your wolf form properly nor to your all magical powers you were a naïve werewolf, nor even you had taken the throne of Crescent Moon pack’s alpha then how can you be responsible, still you are doing your best for your pack, the peaceful life we are continuing today is  all your hard work.”

“But my best wasn’t sufficient,” Syl once again drowns in those mind link message voices who were under Blake Nathan’s s*****y.

Jack thought about the past, how bravely and smartly with little experience and training Syl saved many lives.

He said with confidence, “That’s not correct, you saved so many in the nick of time and we all have faith in you, that you will save all the rest very soon.”

“How will I do that, the prediction was, I will be the most powerful alpha with all the magic powers present in both the worlds and king of the most powerful warrior pack, I am a warrior of god but currently powerless, I can’t even shift myself in my werewolf form?”

 “Yes, it is but only partially, once you will get your mate you will get all your powers back.”

Syl chuckled ironically listening to Jack and said in a bitter tone, “My mate? Don’t know how it will happen?”

“Syl you have met your mate?” Jack asked in surprise. He was easily readable at present who didn’t conceal his expression.

Syl recalled a chatterbox Elizabeth and nodded his head slightly with a painful smile.

“Oh, wow, that’s great, how is she? From which pack is she? Where did you find her? Did you tell her about you? Oh god, I am so silly, she must also get that you are her mate correct by your essence, oh alpha it's a splendid news.”

 Syl chuckled seeing him so overexcited, “Jack, relax.”

 “Leave all that first tell me, how did you feel? Ecstatic?”

 “Ecstatic?” Syl said ironically, “I am much more confused than before, after meeting her.”

 “Why? What happened? First, tell me, where did you meet her?”

It confused Jack listening to his alpha, but he was eager to know everything about his mate because he is the only one here whom Syl used to talk freely and share everything.

“Near northern cliff of the woods,” Syl replied blankly because it’s as an area which should be Crescent Moon pack’s alpha’s territory and which was arrogated by Blake Nathan.

“You again went there.” Jack knew Syl frequently used to go there and look at the boundary of his territory from the highest cliff.

“Yes, it gives me motivation and spirit to fight against my enemy,” Syl said with a slight anger.

“Ok, leave it and tell me what goes on then?” Jack changed the topic.

“When I was returning suddenly I smelled something familiar from a car passing by, I turned my car and followed that car, it stopped some sections away from the woods and a girl came out from it and my mate essence was coming from her.

When I followed her, I saw she was tipsy and moving inside the woods before I could stop her she moved near werewolf’s lake and was suddenly attacked by some, I reached on time and saved her.”

Then Syl told everything to Jack about Elli, about her clumsy behavior and idiotic thoughts.

After listening to the entire story of Syl, Jack burst into laughter.

Syl glared at him angrily, “Will you just shut up.”

Jack controlled his laugh seeing his alpha seriously angry and said very innocently, “Don’t worry Alpha our Luna will be changed after meeting his mate.”

“She is a human,” Syl said in disappointment.

“What ............. human?” Jack was shocked.

It’s not a surprising thing if a werewolf has a human as a mate, but for Alpha, it’s quite difficult, especially for Sylvester who was going to be the most powerful Alpha of the decade.

Mensa, a messenger of the moon goddess, informed them that alpha Sylvester will have the strongest mate to date and the most powerful female werewolf who will double her alpha’s power.

“Yes, the clumsiest form of human I ever met who already has a boyfriend in her life and does not have any expectations from her life other than making a boyfriend.”

Syl said in irritation, and Jack once again started laughing and got another angry glare from Syl.

Syl read her thoughts when she was unconscious in the old hut by keeping his hand on her forehead and got her nature, who was still thinking about the ex-boyfriend whom she broken up with and the current boyfriend, she was actually comparing their differences.

“How did you get her nature in one meeting?” Jack stopped laughing and asked in a serious tone.

Syl took a deep breath and released and  then answered  “When she was unconscious I read her thoughts, in that state also she was only thinking about her boyfriend.”

“That’s great you can be her boyfriend after all you are her mate, just delete that current boyfriend of her from her life,” Jack said in excitement.

“Alright, I will take care of this matter.”

Syl replied in a polite tone and once again reminisce his time when he was with Elli and a small smile appeared on his lips. “Silly girl,” he mummered while shaking his head.

Jack noticed his smile, which was once in a while thing for them, especially from the past three years they hadn’t see him smiling.

Sylvester’s upbringing was in the pressure of responsibilities, that’s why he didn’t have a normal and enjoyable childhood moreover after the incident, three years back he has totally turned serious, being a werewolf, he already has a heating temperament but his nature is much colder and mind is more heated.

Today’s smile is really a heavenly surprise for Jack, he always wanted him to be happy, smile and laugh like a normal person but he never did.

Seems like Luna’s entry into his life brought positive changes for him.

“Alpha, I always wish you smile like this ever, tell me the name behind this smile,” Jack said in a joking manner.

“Elizabeth Cooper,” Syl said casualy.

“Elizabeth Cooper?” Jack’s eyes become wide, big for an unknown reason.

“Elizabeth Cooper, miss Elli, please get up, you are getting late.”

The next morning, Amy Cooper, Elizabeth’s mother knocked on the door to wake her sleepy doughter, for her clumsy daughter to join them at breakfast on time otherwise she will be late for her first day at the university.

“Ahh,” Elli turned her head with a terrible headache and shrieked.

Last night’s party and boozing had affected a hang over, and she was feeling drowsy and there's a severe head ache.

“Elli I am telling you; you will be late for the first day of university, get up fast.”

Elli immediately opened her eyes wide listening about the university, it was her most awaiting dream, she can’t afford to be late.

Wasting no time, she stood up and opened the door for her mother first.

“Good morning, mom.” Elli hugged her mother like a small little kid.

“Good morning, my child.” Amy too hugged her back, “Now get ready fast,” Amy said while separating her from the hug and she started folding her bedrolls.

Elli nodded her head drowsily and moved towards the bathroom door and ‘Dashed’. Elli dashed with the bathroom door being drowsy and fell down with her head on the floor. Thank god there was a thick carpet on the floor otherwise her head would have broken.

Amy immediately turned towards the bathroom on listening to the sound and saw Elli was lying and gretting her teeth with embarrassment.

Amy Cooper mummered, “Why god? Why this daughter of mine is so clumsy, wouldn’t she have any aim in life?”

Amy closed her eyes for a few seconds and felt a tingling sensation, like something unusual was going to happen.
