The Werewolf Mate( my Luna)

Chapter 3

I got to fridolf home and it was a very spacious place with lots of artifacts. His mom and dad were not around and that is something I like, I mean for the mean time so I can get used to the place and calm my nerves. I was so anxious to meet his parents anyways.

He came back into the sitting room where he ushered me in and handed me a glass of cold wine.

-I have never had this before, do wolves drink wine-

- well uhmmm I do not think it is something bad. We have been taking it for quite a while now and it does no harm to us-

Soon enough, we settled in and he started gisting me and talking about his family. Almost immediately, his parents came in and I stood up to greet them.

I could notice his mother's gaze on me and it made me so uncomfortable. I tried to avoid looking at her eyes when she came closer to me and stared hard. Fridolf was surprised and asked his mom why the sudden stare. She made no comment and ushered us to a seat.

She asked if I would like to be entertained with anything but nah I told her no. How could I have asked that she offer me anything after that awkward situation.

She came to sit with us and said she really liked the chain on my neck and that was the reason why she was staring hard at me.

She asked how I came about the neck chain and while I was about telling her about the old woman , I had a flashback to when the old woman told me to keep our little secret safe.

I smiled and told her I bought it from a jewelery store. I saw it in a movie and I liked the look so I ask that a jeweller make one for me.

Fridolf excused us and escorted me out.

He was sorry if I found his mother's questions embarrassing and too forward.

I told him it was okay and I never mind.

We chatted for a while and he went in to bring me some old books .

While flipping through , my eyes caught some writings.

- Why are you staring so hard at those writings "When the Luna comes, on a day the full moon appears, only then will you be made the king after passing through the four stages of initiation" - he read them out aloud.

He told me it was talking about him and he was told he will only become the ruler of the Wolf's nation when he passes through the four stages of initiation and after meeting his Luna.

But then who is the Luna?

I closed the book and handed them back to him.

Now back at my home, I kept thinking about everything that transpired, from the moment his mom walked in to when I read the book and the explanation fridolf gave, there should be something I am missing on, something I need to know.

Searching through my mom's library , I saw some old photos bearing my mom and an older lady in it. On a closer look, I could see a striking resemblance with the old lady and on her neck was the chain she gave to me.

I got confused the more and had so many questions to ask but I kept my cool lest my mom gets to know inwas going through her stuffs.

A new day at school again and on my way to the classroom I saw a bunch of students standing outside forming a large circle. I rushed over to check what could be wrong and saw that there was a wolf howling. I got to know it was a boy that finally was able to use his powers and it was a wonderful sight to behold. Who would not wanna be powerful.

That act of his gained him more respect and fame in school .

I walked away thinking of the day I will be able to use my powers but until then, I will keep learning.

I bursted into Carmen, talking of the devil.

-When will you have your powers wolf girl- she jeered at me

I had no reply for her , I was not in for a fight. I tried walking away but she grabbed me by my hair and placed on my neck a ring. It hurts so bad, it was a ring used by the hunters to torture wolves.

I told her to let me go but she refused and kept touching my neck with it and with each touch, my body ached the more and I got more weak.

Suddenly I felt a surge of anger rose within me and within a blink of an eye I could hear howls and teeth gritting and I knew not where it came from until people gathered around us .

I howled again and grabbed her by the hand with my sharp claws digging deep into her skin and my fangs close to her face.

Immediately I let her go. I felt bad and started crying. Everyone spoke in hushed tones and I wondered what just happened.

I broke away from the crowd and went straight to take my bag then went home.

Boulder already knew what happened hence she called mom and within some minutes I was being asked questions by her about how it happened and what triggered it.

How was I to know?

I am as confused as every other person is . Is the prophecy really coming true?

Am o really the Luna? Too many questions on my mind with no answers to them.

I took a break from school for a while so I could get myself back and while at home I made further research on the historical Luna and what it means.

On one occasion, mom caught me reading such books and snatched it from me.

-Read them again and I will burn everything-

I could see the anger in her eyes as she said those words and I wonder why .
