Chapter 25

659 Words

My fingers tremble, and I try to slow my breathing as I put down the binoculars and raise my phone to take a few pictures. I slowly lower the phone again, my face tight with jealousy as I watch them. Kathryn is kneeling on the driveway, helping Colton draw with chalk. He giggles, knocking the box of chalk over with glee, and he starts running around her before smashing into her. Kathryn laughs, and hugs him before brushing some of his hair back with a tenderness that makes my stomach turn. Look at her.
