Kathryn's Point of View
Colton is sitting on the edge of the hospital bed, playing with a small dinosaur toy, while a nurse finishes checking his chart. She writes something down before looking at me and smiling warmly.
"All done. Everything looks good. You are free to take him home."
I give her a soft smile of gratitude.
"Thank you for everything."
I say and she nods her head.
"Of course. You take care now."
She says, ruffling Colton’s hair before leaving the room.
"You excited to go home buddy?"
Elijah asks our son, and his question makes me freeze for a second. I see Colton nodding his head and I take a deep breath before turning towards Elijah, who is folding Colton’s blanket neatly.
"Actually, I was thinking that I would take him with me to Amy’s. Just for a few days."
