Elijah's Point of View
I pull open another drawer, my frustration growing. Colton asked for his dinosaur blanket before bed last night, and Kathryn said that it should either be in his bedroom or in the guest room closet. But isn’t.
I have even looked through the hallway closet but nothing.
In a last effort, I make my way towards our, no, my bedroom. I open the closet and start rummaging through it.
I knock something over behind a pile of linen and I frown. I reach in and pull out a small gift bag. My frown deepens as I pull it open, and start to remove the contents.
A pale yellow baby onesie with the words “Hello Daddy” printed across it.
A custom leather key chain engraved with “Dad of Two.”
And an ultrasound image tucked into a card that reads “We’re growing our love.”
