Elijah's Point of View
Kathryn and I both sit on the ground with Colton, playing with blocks in the living room. Suddenly, the sound of a car crunching over the gravel driveway draws both of our attention. Kathryn and I share a look.
"Are you expecting anyone?"
Kathryn asks, a frown on her face and I shake my head.
"No..."
I quickly stand and make my way towards the window, and, looking out, I see a familiar face approaching the porch.
I turn to look at Kathryn.
"It's Ruiz."
She stands up and makes her way to me right as I open the door. Detective Ruiz nods politely at me, then at Kathryn.
