"Beryl, you’ve got a package!"
I walked over to the security guard with a smile, even though I was still annoyed with Aireen. At first, I couldn't believe those two massive boxes were actually for me. Who would’ve sent these? There was even a paper bag full of chocolates and a bouquet of expensive flowers.
"I’ll just leave them here for now," I told her.
I figured I’d just take a taxi home later. I decided to take the chocolates with me—I wasn't about to share them with my shameless coworkers. I pulled a bar of the high-end chocolate out of the bag and handed it to the guard.
"Wow! I’ve never had chocolate this good. Thanks, Beryl!"
"You're welcome. By the way, has my lunch arrived yet?"
