Chapter 15 Branwen felt a hand on the small of her back and knew only one person would be touching her that way. She was startled by how vivid the circles under John’s eyes were against his pale skin. He usually looked fine when he was tired, just acted strangely. Well, she certainly had something to do with that. “Let’s go upstairs,” he said close to her ear. “We could both use some rest after the flight.” The woman she’d been listening to beamed and shooed her away with a comment about what a wonderful marriage they had. If she’d known how rarely they’d spoken in the last month without shouting, she might not have been so approving.
