Prologue: The beginning of Humanity, and the end of everything else.
Thousands of years ago. (Williams POV) “William you will regret the day you turned on me!” The witch Kathryn yelled. “I didn’t turn on you Kathryn. She’s my mate, and I won't reject her” William said while chained in sliver to a tree in the clearing Kathryn trapped him to. The silver burned and prevented him from turning into his wolf. >You weak greedy i***t. His wolf scolded. Etsal, I’m sorry. >No apologies can fix this now. We are ruined. William sighed. Your right. “You have known me your entire life William, you have always promised me forever. Now you care about something as trivial as the mate bond? You will learn, your children will learn, along with every child born after, until the end of times.” Kathryn was the most beautiful woman ever seen by man. She was 5'7, with perfectly tanned skin. Her eyes were the deepest green ever seen, and her fire red hair matched perfectly with them. She has cuves in all the right places, which left men pining after her. Her beauty isn't what made her so special, she was the most powerful witch ever born in this time. Every species wanted her for their leaders and she choose William the Alpha of all Alpha's who exception to the pining. Their union brought peace with the werewolves and witches everywhere, but non if that matter once William met Emma his mate. No one compared to her. Her dark brown hair, doe eyes, and porcelain skin was true beauty in his eyes. “You took my virtue, you broke your promises, you are the cause to the end of peace between our kinds. You are a snake.” Kathryn hissed. Then she grabbed Williams mate, bound and gaged, by the arm holding a knife with a golden blade covered in ancient text to her neck. The handle was covered in red shimmering jewels shaped like skulls. “Please Kathryn, don’t hurt Emma. I beg you. Your anger is towards my actions, not hers. Please don’t bring war between our people for my mistakes.” >I told you never to Wed with that witch. This is your fault. You are to blame for this William. Your greed and lust for power is the death of us all. I will never forgive you. WE WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU. His wolf spit as he turned his head. I know Estal. I will fix this I promise. William pleaded with his wolf, just to be blocked. “It’s too late to beg for her life William. Her fate has been sealed with your betrayal.” Kathryn screamed as she slits Emma’s throat and lets the blood poor all over a bowl shaped offering table in the middle of the wooded clearing. William watched the life drain from her eyes and felt the break of their bond as her body went limp. “NOOOOO!” William howled as his body shook with anger and grief. “WOLVES AND WITCHES ALIKE WILL SEE THAT YOU ARE BURNED ALIVE FOR THIS CRIME. TO KILL THE LUNA OF THE ALPHA OF ALL ALPHA'S IS THE BIGGEST OF TREASON!!” He growled. “Too bad she was never your Luna. I am, or did finding your mate make you forget the vows we made?” She sneered as she threw Emma’s lifeless body to the wet muddy ground. She kicked her body aside and started to add other ingredients to the offering table causing the blood to spill form the sides. She then grabbed a basket that William recognized all to well. His heart broke at the sight of it. Kathryn opened it and pulled out the sleeping child covered in a pink cloth. She then placedl the baby girl into the pool of blood submerging her into a blood bath. “Kathryn be sensible. Don’t harm our daughter. She’s innocent in all this. My betrayal to you doesn’t change that she is your daughter too." He begged as he pushed against the silver chains attempting to break free to save his daughter. Thus causing blisters and burns throughout his body. Kathryn gave him one last look before she took the gold knife and held it in the air taking a deep breath as she continued. “The difference in our species is the cause of all this heartache. If there was never magic, wolves, and mate bonds this never would have happened. We would be living in peaceful bliss” She closed her eyes and continued “You say peace between our species is the only reason you are with me. So I’ll take away everything that makes us different. From this day forward all will be the same. There will be no magic, no wolves, no vampires, not even the Faye will be immune to my curse.” She brought the raised knife down and stabbed the baby. The babies cries echoed loudly as she bled into the already pooled blood. Kathryn focused her attention back to William with tears spilling from her eyes. >OUR PUP. YOU ARE THE REASON SHES KILLING OUR PUP. Etsal sneered as William tried harder to gain control against the silver chains. “Please Kathryn heal-” Williams pleads where cut off by Kathryns sharp tones. “From this day forward everyone will be know as humanity. The weakest species to ever walk this earth. You will live short pathetic lives with no mates or magic to undo my binding. Only the next high witch from my blood line born from a wolf father can break this curse by living until her 21st year of life. Which is now and forever impossible.” Kathryn cried as she took the knife and plugged it deep into her own heart. As her body hit the wet, muddy ground it sealed her bind. Withing seconds William felt the worse pain he’s ever felt in his life. It started as a throb in his head then it felt like fire was coursing through his veins, dragging him forcefully from his wolf. Then he felt it. The death of his wolf. His wolf was no more and his mind was left hallow where Estal once resided. He was left completely broken. He lost his mate, his PUP, and his wolf all due to the greed of wanting what he was never fated. After what seemed like forever he no longer felt the burn of the sliver and was able to stumble free from the chains.. He quickly ran to his beloved Emma’s body that was now cold. He pulled her into his embrace, screaming and crying more then he’s ever cried in his life. “I will make this up to you in our next life I promise my beloved.” He pled with Emma's dead body. He then layed her down gently and pulled the golden blade from Kathryn’s chest. He raised the knife high above his head and just as he was going to plunge it into his heart to join his beloved mate he heard a faint cry. He quickly pulled himself up to the offering table and that’s when he realized the child was still alive. He immediately pulled her from the pool of blood and wrapped her wound on her side with his clothing, hoping to stop the bleeding. As he held her tight he could feel the heat starting to leave her body causing him to run back to the village as fast as he can. “I promise you’ll live. You are the key to restoring what I broke. You must live and continue our bloodline to free us all from this curse.” He whispered as he begged the moon goddess to spare her innocent life. She did live, just to die in child birth at 18. Giving birth to twin boys who would carry on the family bloodline. Every child born into the family after that wasn't a boy died before their 21st birthday. That is until Aria.
