Chapter 5 My heart slammed against my ribs like it wanted to escape. Damon was still pressed against me his body warm and solid after what we had just done. His c*m was slowly dripping down my thighs and Sophia was right outside the door knocking again. I could barely breathe. “Damon I know you’re in there,” she called her voice sharp with suspicion. He didn’t pull away immediately. Instead he leaned down and whispered in my ear. “Stay quiet princess.” His fingers brushed between my legs spreading the mess he had left inside me. I shivered fighting back a moan. “Yeah I’m here,” he called out sounding annoyingly calm. “Lila spilled her drink on me. I’m just cleaning up.” I glared at him but he only smirked. He finally stepped back and handed me a towel from my dresser. I cleaned myself as fast as I could my hands shaking. My dress was a wrinkled mess and I was sure my face was flushed. Damon straightened his clothes then opened the door. Sophia stood there with her arms crossed. Her eyes narrowed the second she saw me behind him. “What took so long?” Damon pulled her into a quick kiss like it was nothing. “Told you. Spill. Lila helped me out.” His hand rested on her waist but his eyes flicked back to me full of dark heat. Sophia shot me another nasty look. “Whatever. Come downstairs. Everyone is asking where you are. And tell your stepsister to stop trying so hard with Marcus. It’s embarrassing.” The words hit like a slap. I wanted to snap back but I bit my tongue. Damon gave me one last lingering look before letting Sophia drag him away. The door closed and I sank onto my bed trying to steady my breathing. My body was still buzzing. My p***y still throbbed with the memory of him. This was getting too dangerous. I stayed in my room for a while trying to pull myself together. The party noise downstairs was loud and chaotic. Music thumped through the floor. Laughter and voices mixed together. I hated it. I hated that Damon had thrown it the second our parents left. It felt like he was trying to remind me that he was still the same arrogant guy who loved control. Eventually I got hungry and thirsty enough to go down. The living room was packed with people dancing and drinking. I spotted Marcus near the kitchen and walked over. He smiled when he saw me. “Hey you disappeared for a while. Want to dance?” I said yes mostly because I knew it would annoy Damon. We moved into the crowd. Marcus’s hands settled lightly on my hips as we swayed to the beat. He was sweet and funny. Easy to talk to. Nothing like the intense storm that was my stepbrother. But every time I glanced across the room Damon was watching us. His jaw was tight. Sophia was trying to pull his attention by kissing his neck but his eyes stayed locked on me. Good. Let him feel a little of the jealousy that had been burning in me all night. Sophia noticed the staring contest. She walked over with Damon close behind her. Her smile was fake and cold. “Having fun Lila? Marcus must be really desperate tonight.” I lifted my chin refusing to back down. “At least he’s not using a loud party to hide how bored he is in his own relationship.” Tension crackled between us. Damon stepped in smoothly but his hand brushed my lower back in the crowd. A secret touch that sent sparks racing over my skin. “Play nice you two,” he said but his voice had that rough edge I was starting to recognize. The night dragged on in a haze of music and stolen glances. I danced a little more with Marcus. Laughed at his jokes. All while feeling Damon’s eyes on me like a physical touch. Sophia kept throwing dirty looks my way. The rivalry between Damon and me felt alive and electric. We had crossed a huge line last night and now we were dancing around it in a house full of people. Later I slipped upstairs to catch my breath. The noise downstairs was giving me a headache. I had just closed my bedroom door when it opened again. Damon stepped inside and locked it behind him. His eyes were stormy with frustration and desire. “Enjoying Marcus’s hands all over you?” he growled advancing on me. I backed up until my legs hit the bed. “Enjoying Sophia’s tongue down your throat?” He stopped right in front of me close enough that I could feel the heat coming off his body. “She’s just for appearances tonight. You’re the one I want. The one I can’t stop thinking about.” His hand came up to cup my face. His thumb brushed my lower lip. I wanted to push him away. I wanted to pull him closer. Instead I stood there breathing fast. “We can’t keep doing this Damon,” I whispered. “Not with her here. Not with everyone downstairs.” He leaned in until his forehead rested against mine. “Tell me to leave then Lila. Tell me you don’t want my hands on you right now.” I couldn’t say it. Because it would be a lie. His mouth brushed mine in a teasing kiss. Not deep. Not claiming. Just enough to make me ache for more. His hands roamed down my sides squeezing my hips. He pulled me against him so I could feel how hard he was. But he didn’t push for more than that. “Later,” he promised against my lips. “When the house is empty. I’m going to take my time with you.” A knock sounded on the door again. Sophia’s voice cut through. “Damon come on. The party is dying down but some of us want to keep it going in the pool house.” Damon stepped back with a frustrated sigh. He adjusted himself and gave me one last heated look. “This isn’t over princess. Not even close.” He left and I sank onto the bed my body buzzing with unmet need. The party continued downstairs for another hour or so. I heard people leaving gradually. Sophia’s laugh carried up the stairs at one point. When everything finally went quiet I stayed in my room trying to process everything. Damon had f****d me twice already. He had a girlfriend downstairs. We were stepsiblings. This rivalry between us had turned into something addictive and terrifying. I touched my lips where he had kissed me. My skin still tingled everywhere he had touched. I knew I should put a stop to it. But deep down I wasn’t sure I wanted to. The house was finally silent. I wondered if he would come back tonight. Part of me hoped he would. The other part was scared of how much I hoped.
