Tears flooded Richard's eyes on a cold Sunday evening while he was sitted outside, remembering how Susan served him the hottest "breakfast" he has ever had. "After all I did for her, after all we shared"....he thought to himself with the tears rolling down his cheeks. "Neighbor neighbor!" Mary shouted, referring to Richard as she walks towards where he was sitted.. "are you alright?" she asked him. Richard looked at her, smiled and said "I will miss you" "what do you mean?" Mary asked, confused! "I'd be moving out soon" he responded with doubts in his mind.."are you okay?" he thought to himself "Really?..but why? Mary replied.. Just then, light came on, Mary rushed in to charge her phone, Richard rushed in to avoid Mary coming back to meet and question him further... "Why would you even lie about packing out?" Richard thought to himself as he entered his room.."what kind of silly excuse was that?" After a long thought on why he lied to Mary, how he was going to pass through the stage of heartbreak, he concluded that he really should pack out... probably move to another state where he would be able to start his life afresh... (six months later) "So, tell me..what made you leave Awora?..you know this place isn't so good for a fine boy like you" Tura, Richard's new friend teased him as they were walking back home together from the filling station where they went to buy fuel to charge their phones as there is no light in Asun, Richard's new town of residence. Remember our dress code for each day" Mr Danni, the CEO said to Richard "Thank you so much sir I would resume on Monday..thank you sir" Richard said with a big smile on his face as he left the office... Just as he got to the front of his house, a beautiful lady was packing her stuffs into the next room... he greeted her and she replied with a big smile on her face "you have a new neighbor" Richard smiled and entered his one room. "It's Friday, I need to prepare myself for work on Monday... I need clothes! new clothes!" Richard said to himself outside while he was sweeping his frontage... "We could go to the market together to get you new clothes...I want to get some stuffs for myself too" Richard's new neighbor responded.. Richard stood up and smiled.."wait, what's your name?" he asked... "My name is Omar, and you are?" "I'm Richard.. so when are we going to the market?" "It would be best I we go later this evening so that you can was and iron them tomorrow being Saturday" Oma said while Richard already had a big smile on his face..."you be correct wife material o" he teased.. "Alright then...I'd like to join you" "Okay..that's fine, now stop talking to yourself and finish up with the sweeping already" Oma said as she laughed and entered her room... Richard just stood there speechless with a wide smile on his face....he stopped sweeping and went inside... "This girl is kind oo.. Beautiful plus kind equals to scam these days...wake up Richard! She's just kind...she doesn't like you.... Damn! She's my spec" All these were going through Richard's mind as he entered his room and laid on the bed. "what should I even wear to that market?" he quickly stood up and rushed to the wardrobe..."I have to look my best" he said.... Richard!..it's past 4pm already" Oma called out as she knocked on Richard's door... "Alright... I'm ready..let go" They left for the market and returned at about 6:45pm, holding hands.... Richard smiled back and thought to himself "What a charming smile" Oma had already gone into her room...Richard was still standing outside, smiling.... It's Monday morning and Richard is happy and alright in the office, waiting to start work immediately...his boss walked in.. "Good morning sir" Richard greeted.. "yes..morning Richard, I can see you're fully ready to work... Welcome" his boss replied "thank you sir”..said Richard "Andrew will show you round and put you through on what to do" Mr Danni said pointing at Andrew "Good morning Andrew" Richard greeted "Good morning Richard, welcome to the great..." Andrew responded as he was cut short by Mr Danni.."it's alright Andrew.. get to work. show him around quickly..there's a lot to be done today" "okay sir.. follow me" Andrew said as he arranged his tie and walked away... Richard followed him... "How was your first day at work?" Oma asked with curiosity as she stood in Richard's room with her two hands on her waist...she had brought him food for the first time... "Omor...it was okay o...I worked and worked..shebi na me dey find work" they both laughed and Oma sat on the bed "Well, there's this cool guy, Andrew.. guy is so funny, friendly and all.. we'd be good friends in the office..I guess" "wow..I'm glad you had a nice day" Oma said "thank you so much for the food...as if you know was hunger wan finish me" Richard responded and the both laughed He carried the food and began to eat with Oma.... "It's delicious!...The best I've had in a long time, I must confess" he said, dropping the spoon "awwnn...thank you" Oma blushed They both drank water and remained silent...stirring at each other.... Richard lost control and attempted to kiss Oma.. "So, I'll go do the dishes right away.. I'm happy I was able to feed a hungry lion" Oma joked as she tried to dodge the kiss... they both laughed "I see what you did there" Richard said as he nodded his head and laughed Oma went to her room, Richard had a quick shower and fell asleep while thinking of his closeness with Oma... "If you love her, go for her...if not, someone else will get her right before your eyes and e go shock you" Andrew advised Richard... "at least you've worked here for 5 months now and you've known her for same 5 months... Richard, go for her" he continued... Richard had told Andrew about his closeness with Oma, how they met and all... "but she's my neighbor..that's my problem" Richard said "so? what if she's your neighbor?" Andrew cut in... "my brother, see ehn..that girl is beautiful and a wife material for that matter... give me her number if you're not interested biko..or when next I come to your place, I'd get it myself...they both laughed and continued with their beer while the soft music continued to play in the background...
