Instinct

I was running for my life!   Why does my life suck right now?  See I had just wanted a little run on the path behind Grandma Emma's house, it was just so peaceful in the forest, I wanted to just think.  Of course some exercise never hurt anybody either, or so I thought. I was currently being chased by someone or something, I couldn't see it but I could definitely feel it.  "So close!" I was almost back to Gran's house, it was dark but I could see the lights to the house from here. "Made it, take that stalker!" I ran through the back door into the kitchen, bent over breathing heavily. I stood up to look out the back window and screamed "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh".  There was someone looking at me through the window! "Kat what happened? are you ok? what's going on?" gran asked while looking me over for any injuries. I looked through the window again but didn't see anything. "What the hell? I'm ok gran but there was someone chasing me and someone was just looking at me through the window" I told her.  BANG BANG BANG , someone was banging at the back door. "Mrs. Emma, it's Brandon I have your delivery" someone called. Gran went and opened the door and oh my a 6' 2 Adonis stood at the door.       "Hello Brandon, good to see you.  Thank you for delivering my groceries, I would like you to meet my granddaughter Kat" "Nice to meet you Kat, I'm Brandon.  Was that you screaming before?" "Yeah Kat, what happened ?" gran asked. So I told them all about my jog through the forest and how I was being followed, only to run into the house and see someone's face through the window.  “Huh that's weird, I didn't see anybody when I was coming to the back to bring the groceries.” Brandon said. “Well they must have ran back into the forest when I screamed then.” I replied feeling embarrassed since this was my first time meeting him, and let me say it again he is HOT.  Brandon had gone back outside real quick just to double check no one came back and then left telling me he would see me at school tomorrow. s**t, i forgot. Tomorrow would be my first day at a new school, but at least i knew one person, even though my first impression might not have been that great.  After helping Gran put all the groceries away I went upstairs, took a shower and got into bed.     Tried as I might I couldn't get to sleep.  I kept thinking about my parents and brother, wondering what they were up to.  So a little bit about myself…. I’m 17, my birthday is June 3rd, 5’ 3 inches, strawberry blonde hair and hazel eyes.  My parents and my 22 year old brother are back in Romania to take care of some family business I know nothing about. You see that's where we are from, Transylvania, Romania.  But i don't remember it at all since I was 3 when we came to the US and have not really been back. My brother has gone back a couple of times since he is older and decided he wanted to go back again this time with my parents.  I on the other hand wanted to finish up school here in the states since my parents weren’t sure how long they were going to have to stay there this time around. We have a home there even though I'm not sure how it looks or anything, and then we have the house in Long Island NY.  But since I am only 17 my parents didn't want me to be home alone, so off to Grandma's house I go for my senior year. Grans house is in Annica NY, upstate in the boonies, all trees and forests and 25 min drive to the supermarket. She has a really cute home, little 2 bedroom, 2 bath blue cottage with wrap around porch.  I love it here but i still miss my family. I’ve been here for almost a week now and school will be starting tomorrow, Sept 1st. I’m nervous but I’ll be alright, at least I keep telling myself that. I had gotten up and made myself a cup of tea after not being able to sleep, Gran always said some soothing chamomile would help with sleeplessness. Once I finished I laid back down and after tossing and turning for a little while longer, sleep finally came. UNKNOWN POV I will not let her destroy what i have been working so hard for, she will not destroy my plans! For years now I have been working in gaining this position so that I can have the future I have always pictured for myself… the respect, loyalty, the followers.  I will lead and they will follow my words and no one not even her will get in my way. I will be a part of the Royals, but in order for me to succeed in my plans I have to make sure no one gets in my way, I will just have to keep an eye on her from a distance.     Distance????  Or so he thought UNKNOWN 2 POV I wonder if she saw my face?  I just wanted a peak, I didn't know she was going to look out the window right at that moment.  I guess I’ll see if she recognizes me at school tomorrow. Her parents wanted me to keep an eye on her.  I should have kept my distance but I wanted to make sure she was safe from the others in the forest and I must have spooked her because she sped up, which was good since I wasn't the only thing out there tonight.  She will know all truths soon enough, her parents promised! But I guess only time will tell. They have less than a year left. Little did he know that time would not work in his favor.
