THE WOMAN BEHIND MY HUSBAND
Episode One: The First Sign
Amara stood before the mirror, smiling at her reflection as she adjusted her earrings. Five years of marriage, and she still believed she had married the best man in the world.
Daniel was handsome, hardworking, and gentle. At least, that was the man she knew.
That evening, Amara prepared his favorite meal and waited patiently for him to return from work. When his car finally stopped outside, she hurried to the door.
“Welcome home, darling.”
Daniel kissed her forehead, but his smile looked forced.
“Thank you, Amara. I’m exhausted.”
She watched him walk upstairs. Something felt different.
Later that night, while Daniel showered, his phone vibrated on the bed. Amara glanced at it without intending to invade his privacy.
A message appeared.
I miss you already. Last night wasn’t enough. When can I see you again?
Amara froze.
Her heart began pounding.
She picked up the phone, but before she could open the message, Daniel walked into the room.
“What are you doing with my phone?”
His voice was unusually cold.
Amara slowly placed it on the bed.
“Nothing. It just rang.”
Daniel grabbed the phone and stared at her.
For the first time in five years, Amara wondered whether she truly knew her husband.
Then another message appeared.
She still believes you love her.
Episode Two: The Lie
Amara barely slept that night.
Daniel had taken his phone downstairs, claiming he needed to make an urgent call. But Amara could not forget the message.
She still believes you love her.
The words kept repeating in her mind.
The next morning, Daniel behaved as though nothing had happened.
“Are you okay?” he asked while buttoning his shirt.
Amara forced a smile.
“Yes. I just didn’t sleep well.”
Daniel kissed her cheek and picked up his briefcase.
“I have an important meeting today. I might come home late.”
Amara watched him leave.
Something inside her told her he was lying.
Later that afternoon, she called Daniel.
“Where are you?”
“At the office,” he answered immediately.
Amara frowned.
“What office?”
“The main office, of course.”
His answer sounded rehearsed.
After the call ended, Amara decided to surprise him.
She drove to his office, but his secretary looked confused when she arrived.
“Mrs. Daniel? He left almost two hours ago.”
Amara’s heart sank.
“Did he say where he was going?”
The secretary shook her head.
“No, but he received a call from a woman before leaving.”
“A woman?”
“Yes. She called him Nora.”
Amara’s hands trembled.
For the first time, the name had a face in her imagination.
And she knew she had to find her.
Episode Three: The Woman in Red
Amara waited outside Daniel’s office until she saw him leave.
He looked around before entering his car.
Amara quickly followed from a distance, her hands trembling around the steering wheel.
Daniel drove for nearly thirty minutes before stopping outside an expensive restaurant.
Amara parked across the street.
She watched him step out and walk inside.
A few minutes later, a woman wearing a red dress arrived.
Amara’s breath caught.
The woman looked familiar, but she could not remember where she had seen her before.
Daniel smiled when he saw her.
Then he pulled her into a warm embrace.
Amara felt something break inside her.
She stepped out of her car and moved closer to the restaurant window.
Daniel and the woman sat together, laughing like two people deeply in love.
Then the woman reached across the table and held his hand.
Amara covered her mouth to stop herself from crying.
Suddenly, Daniel looked toward the window.
Their eyes almost met.
Amara quickly stepped backward and hid behind a parked vehicle.
A moment later, her phone vibrated.
It was a message from an unknown number.
“If you want to know the truth about your husband, come alone tonight.”
Amara stared at the message.
Then another arrived.
“And don’t trust Nora.”
Episode Four: The Unknown Caller
Amara returned home before Daniel noticed she had followed him.
She locked the bedroom door and stared at the mysterious message again.
If you want to know the truth about your husband, come alone tonight.
Who could have sent it?
At exactly eight o’clock, her phone rang.
“Hello?”
For several seconds, nobody answered.
“Who is this?” Amara demanded.
A woman finally spoke.
“You are looking for Nora.”
Amara’s heart raced.
“Who are you?”
“You don’t need to know my name yet. But you need to understand something. Daniel has been lying to you for years.”
Amara swallowed hard.
“What does Nora have to do with my husband?”
The caller laughed bitterly.
“More than you can imagine.”
Before Amara could ask another question, the call ended.
Minutes later, Daniel arrived home.
He walked into the bedroom and kissed her forehead.
“You look worried.”
“I’m fine,” Amara replied.
Daniel smiled and went to change.
Amara watched him carefully.
Then she noticed something sticking out of his jacket pocket.
When he entered the bathroom, she quietly pulled it out.
It was a photograph.
Her hands began shaking.
The photograph showed Daniel standing beside Nora.
But they were not alone.
Between them stood a little boy who looked remarkably like Daniel.
On the back were four words:
“Your husband’s first family.”
Episode Five: The Child
Amara stared at the photograph, unable to breathe.
The little boy had Daniel’s eyes.
There was no doubt about it.
She quickly returned the photograph to his jacket before Daniel came out of the bathroom.
That night, she pretended to sleep while Daniel lay beside her.
His breathing soon became steady.
Amara quietly reached for her phone and searched through the photograph she had secretly taken.
She zoomed in on the boy’s face.
Then she noticed something else.
Around his neck was a small silver necklace.
Amara recognized it immediately.
Daniel wore the matching necklace on their wedding day.
Her heart pounded.
At six the next morning, Amara called Daniel’s mother.
“Ma, I need to ask you something.”
There was silence.
“What is it, my dear?”
“Did Daniel ever have a child before he married me?”
The silence that followed was longer.
Finally, his mother sighed.
“Amara, there are things about Daniel you were never supposed to know.”
Amara closed her eyes.
“So there is a child?”
“I’m sorry.”
Her voice broke.
“Who is the mother?”
Before his mother could answer, the call suddenly ended.
Seconds later, Amara received a message.
“Stop asking questions before Daniel discovers what you know.”
Amara stared at the screen.
Then Daniel walked into the room.
“Who are you talking to?”
Episode Six: The Hidden Marriage
Amara quickly locked her phone.
“No one,” she answered.
Daniel stared at her suspiciously.
“You look nervous.”
“I’m just tired.”
He walked closer and touched her shoulder.
“Amara, is there something you’re not telling me?”
She looked into his eyes.
“I could ask you the same question.”
Daniel’s expression changed for a second, but he quickly smiled.
“What do you mean?”
“Nothing.”
He kissed her forehead before leaving for work.
The moment his car disappeared, Amara called Daniel’s mother again.
This time, the older woman answered.
“Please, Amara,” she whispered. “Leave the past alone.”
“I deserve to know the truth.”
Silence.
Then she finally spoke.
“Daniel was married before he met you.”
Amara’s heart stopped.
“Married?”
“Yes. Her name was Nora.”
Amara dropped into a chair.
The woman she had seen at the restaurant was not simply Daniel’s lover.
She was his former wife.
“What happened between them?”
Daniel’s mother began crying.
“They had a son. Daniel left them after an accident changed everything.”
“What accident?”
Before she could explain, someone knocked loudly on Amara’s front door.
She froze.
Another knock followed.
Then a man’s voice came from outside.
“Mrs. Amara, we need to talk about your husband.”
Amara slowly approached the door.
Through the glass, she saw a stranger holding a file.
And on the file was Daniel’s name.
