Chapter 4

I was very sure of my feelings towards lana, but her,i couldn't explain hers. Deep down i knew she had something for me and I was ready to dig it out. Mother was poisoned and this brought a little confusion in our home.

"Will mom be fine?" Lana asked. "She'd be fine little one". We had this little conversation in the field and again all she cared was about protecting the family and not breaking our parents heart. What of mine? She walked out of our conversation not knowing what else to say. After seeing mom that evening I stopped her on her tracks.

We shouldn't be seen in that manner but I was loosing my cool for lana. "Domain we shouldn't be seen like this"."I know but I can't help it" i knew she was thinking about kesper and getting with him just to avoid me, but that would be over my dead body. I left the kingdom for days as i had important things to attend to.

"I'm still surprised you aren't thinking of going back home"Josiah spoke to me. "I have another meeting tomorrow evening, there's much on ground"." So much that we'll have to miss the wedding?".I couldn't believe my ears. So Lana was going to get married to the Duke after everything.

"Fill in for me would you?"i begged Josiah and he nodded. I rode my quickly, going back home to stop my mate from being taken."how could she?" I muttered as i kept riding.

I came down of my house quickly hoping i didn't arrive late. I was welcomed by some guards but I push them aside quickly opening the doors to see a wedding ceremony take place before my eyes. "STOP " i yelled and everyone turned looking. I could see the begging look on Lana's face but I still wasn't going to allow her marry the Duke.

Mother came quickly towards me and whispered "what is this son? you're creating a scene". I looked at her, still panting i slowly moved towards the altar." This wedding cannot hold" i said still panting heavily. "Why so?"the Duke asked. "The woman you want to get married to,my sister,is my mate"i replied with bitterness as i spoke. I could hear the mumurs but I wasn't concerned with what anyone had to say now. I just wanted Lana to be mine. I could see Dad staring wild at me but I could careless.

"Domain have you gone mad? maybe you're drunk.can some guards come pick this young man from here"kesper added with seriousness. "I am not drunk and I mean it when I say this wedding cannot hold. Now carry your little legs back to your kingdom and never come back here again"i said this time I was closer to him than ever.

Kesper took a deep sigh and looked straight at me. He slapped me and spat on my face and everyone in the room heaved. I touched my mouth and found blood on them. Kesper just made the wrong move. I gave a sharp blow under his face which sent him to the ground. I kept giving him blows even when mother and some other guards tried to stop me i brought out my claws and scared them off. I scratched him giving him alot of injury to his chest. I returned a blow and his eyes thickened with fury. We kept fighting, destroying the place. Some noble guests were already leaving,it was madness they witnessed.

""Stop,stop, STOP " Lana yelled from the altar were she stood. I quickly pushed kesper aside and stood on my feet. Everyone turned to listen to Lana who was visibly crying."domain is right, this wedding cannot hold,I'm... I'm carrying his child " Lana lied. Mother was in dismay same as father who came to support her from falling. I quickly cleaned the blood on my mouth and looked around. maybe she really accepted that we're meant to be together. I could see she was crying but sniffed it all up. She looked down not knowing what she had done but at least the fight was over.

Kesper got up from the floor and looked sternly at Lana and back at me. "You've ruined everything... you, you will regret this i promise"he said. His guards came to support him out of the supposed wedding room. Slowly all the guests started leaving in great disappointment. It was an abomination. But then again Lana was my mate. Everyone else had to accept it. Mother before leaving for her room gave lana a slap and she cried on the floor.

I tried walking to her but she immediately ran to her room. Did I ruin everything?i decided I'd speak to her later in the day since moods were still up and no one was happy.

I retired to my room taking of my blood stained fit and washing up. I knew i had to have a conversation with Lana but not now.i was still on my pants facing the window when the door to my room was harshly opened."father"i greeted. " Don't you dare... under my nose my two children have been having an affair! Under my nose"he said angrily. "Father if this is about what happened earlier, well just know I feel no remorse about it"i said void of emotions. "You..do you know what you have done? Kesper s father was ready to be an allie if he got married to Lana. Don't you know how important that is to the entire pack". "Or maybe you just want to continue leading as alpha. Father,ever since you sent me to Scotland, I've been proving to you that I'm ready to be a ruler. I'm ready to lead the pack. You look for allies because you know you are weak. Selling of your own daughter to... "Shut up! Who said I'm weak" he yelled this time his eyes flickered.

He's claws come out and I stood my ground. "Over my dead body will you commit an abomination and choose to rule my pack. I'm the alpha even unto death". He left my room angrily. I chuckled a bit at his statement " shall you have it". I dressed up quickly waiting for my men to return from the long journey i sent them to. If there should be war for me to rule then I don't mind.

Lana's POV

Daphne helped take out the straps of my wedding gown and I was left in my inner lining. She looked down the whole time she was with me and didn't say a word to me. I felt bad for my actions today but it was the only way to keep the family safe and together.

"Do you think what I did was wrong?"i asked as she took the jewelries off me. "My princess,you did what was at your will" she replied. "Daphne" i called turning around " you're the only i can speak to right now, everyone else is mad at me. Was i wrong". "You shouldn't have lied my princess"."how did you know i was lying?". "I know you very well my princess. I could tell. But Why?"."please sit". I was ready to tell Daphne everything since she was my only friend now.

I was very sure kesper wanted something more than marriage from my family. He's father had this very irritating look whenever he saw me. And I'm very convinced his father doesn't like mine. As for kesper,he loved me but something was very fishy about him and that's why I lied at the wedding ceremony. Although I couldn't hide my feelings anymore for domain, lying about being pregnant was the opportunity to keep myself away from kesper's family.

"So you like your brother" Daphne asked in surprise. "I do, and I want to be with him. It's the moon goddess wish. And he'll be alpha soon enough to rule our pack". Daphne didn't show signs of being surprised which made me shocked. "Aren't you suprised?"i asked."no my princess,i also feel something has been different lately. None of the maids could have poisoned your mother. I'm just trying to put something together but.. not quite"she said. "Tell me what you think, tell me"i said coming closer to were she sat. "Your mom was poisoned the day the Duke came to visit. I have a feeling he had a hand in this. He was speaking to a maid while we're preparing the meal but I couldn't hear what they said.". " What if he was planning to poison father instead?"
