she smiled before killing chapter 7

“The gunshot rang out… and no one dared to move until the body hit the ground.” Everyone in the hall was shocked by her behavior. No one knew she could be this dangerous. Zaveyaar stood silently in the corner, smoking a cigarette. While everyone else was horrified, a smirk appeared on his face. “Clear the mess,” she said to her junior before leaving, briefly looking at her father. As she walked outside, the hallway was empty. Suddenly, Iqrash pinned her against the wall. “Can you stop being so cruel to yourself? What if you got hurt?” Manal looked at him coldly. “I have never cared about that, and neither should you. We’re only working on this case together, yet you keep getting involved in my life again and again.” “And trust me… I hate it.” He grabbed her wrist tightly and pulled her closer. Anger and worry were both visible in his eyes. “Why don’t you understand?” For a moment, she froze. She was close enough to hear his heartbeat while he stared at her with nothing but concern. Her eyes remained locked with his… And suddenly, she kicked him away. “Don’t you dare touch me again.” “Can you leave this dangerous work to me for once?” he said. Ignoring him, she walked toward her car. While sitting inside, she said quietly, “You can’t stay with me forever, can you?” He immediately replied, “If you allow me to.” She looked at him for a moment before speaking coldly again. “I can’t afford to be annoyed by you.” She shut the car door and drove away. At first, she was heading toward her own place, but after taking a deep sigh, she changed direction and drove to her family house instead. Opening the door with her card, she stepped inside. Everyone looked shocked and worried, not knowing how to react. Sikander spoke first. “Would you mind explaining everything?” Manal walked toward the table, picked up a glass of water, took a sip, and finally spoke. “I joined the special police department after I left this house.” “After my breakup with Zaveyaar, you told me to do something I truly liked… and that was the day I chose this field.” Suhana looked disturbed. “Do you even realize how dangerous this is?” Manal gave a sad smirk. “So what? Even if it’s dangerous… so what?” “At that time, Mom, I didn’t even want to live anymore. But later, I learned to control my feelings… and with time, I started loving my job.” “You’re leaving this job right now,” Suhana said firmly. Manal looked at her mother in disbelief. “You think you can just order me, and I’ll agree?” “Manal!” Suhana shouted angrily. “Come on, Mom. I’m human too. I have feelings. There are things I want to do and things I don’t. You have to stop forcing me again and again.” It was the first time she had ever talked back to her mother.
