she smiled before killing chapter 4

“But one day she’ll understand me. It’s been seven years. Why can’t she just move on? It’s not like she lost some diamond.” Sikander sighed. “Okay, now let it be. We’ll see what happens next.” “As well, we have a party to attend with the family at Mr. Khan’s house. So, are you ready?” Suhana replied, “When did I even get the time to get ready? I’ll go now, and you should get ready too. So come on, my wife.” “Haha, come on.” They smiled and left. Manal went to her usual place for tea. Before she could even order, Iqrash brought her tea. She didn’t look up and said, “Thanks, but I didn’t order yet.” “Maybe it’s for someone else,” she thought, then looked up. “No, ma’am, the order is yours.” He smiled. But the moment she saw him, her mood became irritated. She muttered, “Can’t believe a person’s day can be this bad.” “Did you say something?” he asked. “No, I didn’t.” “Okay, have your tea. We need to go somewhere.” “I have a habit of drinking my tea in peace.” “Yeah, have it.” He kept looking at her. “Won’t you leave from here?” “I’m here for you. You can’t make me run away, can you?” She gave him an irritated smile. “Okay, let’s go then.” “But your tea?” “I’m not in the mood for it anymore. So, should we go now?” “Listen—” he tried to talk to her. “Come on.” They went to their base to discuss the next plan. When they entered the room, everyone greeted them. Shahzaib asked, “Have you got the information?” “Yeah, here it is.” A large screen on the wall displayed photos of missing girls. Dua spoke seriously, “Sir, all these girls were kidnapped under the promise of good jobs. They wanted a better life, but instead, they were kidnapped and sold illegally.” “Sold?” Manal repeated. “Yeah. We found out there’s an auction where girls are traded and sold.” “And…” Dua suddenly stopped. “And what?” both Manal and Iqrash asked at the same time. “There are minor girls too…” “What?” Manal was shocked. She took a deep breath. The glass in her hand nearly broke from the pressure of her grip. Iqrash noticed and gently took the glass from her hand while whispering, “You’ll hurt yourself.” She slowly loosened her grip. Manal asked coldly, “So, does anyone have a plan about where we should start?” Iqrash replied, “It’ll take some time.” “But we don’t have time,” Manal argued. Dua sighed. “We’re trying, but we still haven’t found any clues.” Manal picked up a pen and rolled it between her fingers. “These monsters are targeting girls who desperately need money and selling them into the s*x market.” Her eyes darkened with anger. “I’ll make sure they never get a peaceful death. And I’ll bring back every girl who has already been sent out of the country.” “These people must be operating in crowded places… like clubs, local restaurants that barely pay enough, and casinos.” Irtaza suddenly spoke, “I just got news. The person who lures girls with fake job offers is going to the restaurant again for dinner.” “Then let’s go,” Iqrash said coldly. “And make sure he never forgets this dinner.” Everyone changed into civil clothes and altered their appearance before leaving. Manal looked exactly like a poor girl desperate for money. They all went separately, but Iqrash stayed with Manal. Manal didn’t have any weapon with her. “Are you ready?” he asked. “Yeah, I’m fine,” she replied casually, as if it was nothing and she could handle everything perfectly. “You… you don’t have any weapon with you, so just give a signal if you feel scared or if something goes wrong. Okay?” She looked at him and smiled faintly. “I think I’m the one going there. So why are you the one being nervous?” He replied as if he didn’t care, “Of course. You’re my teammate. I have to make sure you’re safe.” She just hummed softly. “Don’t worry. I’ll handle everything properly and won’t let down my team leader.” Everyone took their positions while staying connected through conference calls. Manal was about to go inside disguised as a waitress when Iqrash suddenly held her hand. “Take care of yourself.” Irtaza spoke through the call teasingly, “Bro, you never showed this much concern for me.” Dua laughed. “Yeah, sir, you never wish us well like that.” Iqrash warned them, “Say one more word and I won’t let either of you speak again.” Everyone smiled and focused on their work again. Inside Manal’s clothes was a tracking chip. She also had a tiny camera hidden inside the locket given to her by Iqrash. It looked thin, round, and pointed. She started cleaning tables while the others watched from afar. Soon, the man entered the restaurant. The place wasn’t in good condition, but it was crowded. The moment she saw him, she realized she had seen him somewhere before. Through the call, she said quietly, “We’re changing the plan a little.” “What? Are you out of your mind?” Iqrash shouted. Everyone else was shocked too. This was the first time someone had dared to change his plan. “Manal, don’t do something foolish.” “We’re not going to catch him now.” “What are you thinking, Manal?” “I’m going to let him kidnap me. We’ll go to the place where they’re keeping everyone, and then we’ll catch them all.” “Manal, this is too risky.” “Sometimes we need to take risks too.” Iqrash felt helpless. “Manal…” “Trust me. I’ll handle this well. Don’t worry.” “Manal, don’t do something foolish. Do you understand?” “Manal, let’s move on for now. I still have an old account to settle with him.” She cut the call and threw away her Bluetooth earpiece. Iqrash was deeply worried about her.
