Manal, don’t do something risky,” Iqrash said to himself.
Manal was cleaning the tables when that man came forward and sat at a table near her.
She faked a call and started talking.
“I really don’t have money right now. Please give me some time.”
The man listened to her conversation and, while passing by, slipped her a note.
“Meet me in the backyard if you need money.”
He left, and she looked at her team members.
Then she blinked at Iqrash.
She left the restaurant and went to the backyard to meet the man.
“My name is Azhar, and I can give you the money you need.”
(She acted like a greedy person.)
“Really…? Are you actually going to give me money?”
“But why would you give me money? I don’t even know you.”
“It doesn’t matter. I know a place. I’ll take you there… but you have to come with me right now.”
Manal replied, “Can I call my mum? I should let her know that I’m working overtime today.”
“No, you shouldn’t call anybody. We’ll be back soon.”
She made a face and said, “You’re not going to make me work at some illegal place, right? You know nowadays there are so many bad people wandering around.”
“Are you coming or not?”
“Okay, boss, I’ll listen to you. Let’s go.”
She left with him in the car while the others followed them.
“Boss, now that you’re giving me money, I should at least know your name. What was your name again?”
“My name is Azhar.”
“Oooo, okay boss…”
“By the way, where are we going? It’s been a while since we’ve been traveling.”
“Can’t you shut your mouth? You talk too much. Be quiet.”
“Okay, boss…”
Azhar noticed someone following them, so he sped up the car. Manal’s head hit the front seat.
“Boss, how are you driving—”
“Shut up!”
The car sped dangerously through traffic. Then Iqrash shouted, “Manal, stop the car!”
Manal was furious and thought he had lost his mind.
Azhar glared at her. “You… you told someone to follow us?”
“Who are you?”
He pulled out his gun and pointed it at her head.
“Speak, or I’ll kill you on the spot!”
He finally realized something was wrong.
Manal was completely done with him. She replied coldly,
“Are you sure you’re going to scare me with this toy?”
Within a second, she hit his hand, grabbed the gun, and pointed it at his head.
When Iqrash stopped their car, everyone got out immediately.
Irtaza and the others arrested him.
“Whoever you are, you can’t reach them. They are far beyond your reach. Just because you caught me, you think you can catch the whole network? There are far more people involved than you can imagine.”
Iqrash got irritated by his nonsense and hit him hard on the neck.
“Take him with you and make sure he stays alive.
And try to investigate further.”
Dua asked, “Sir, aren’t you coming?”
“I have something to handle.”
He was angry, and so was Manal.
When everyone left with Azhar, Manal turned to Iqrash.
“Are you out of your mind? We could’ve reached their base. We could’ve moved our plan forward. How could you interrupt my plan like this? Didn’t I tell you to wait?”
He grabbed her arm and pushed her gently against the wall.
“Am I out of my mind? Really? Are you the head of the team, or am I?”
“Manal, I believe in teamwork. Everyone has the right to give advice.”
“But you didn’t give advice,” she snapped. “You just executed your own plan without informing me.”
“Can’t you see how risky it was? What if something had happened to you…?”
He stared into her eyes. He was angry because he was worried about her.
Meanwhile, she thought it was just his ego speaking.
She pushed him back angrily.
“I can’t satisfy your ego.”
She turned and started walking away alone. After taking a few steps, she suddenly stopped and turned back.
“Oh yes, one more thing.”
He looked at her silently.
“When I chose this job, I knew from the start that it would be dangerous. It would take away my nights of rest, and maybe one day I’d even be killed while doing my duty.”
“And I was still willing to do it… because it’s worth it.”
“And I have no regrets.”
“Mr. Iqrash, congratulations. You just ruined my plan because you thought it was risky. Then why are you even in this job? You should stay at home instead.”
“But let me tell you something. The man we just caught is not just a kidnapper—he’s also a highly skilled sharpshooter. I’ve seen him before. Be careful while investigating him.”
She brushed back her messy hair, just like she had the first time Iqrash saw her eight years ago.
