CHAPTER EIGHT BEAUTIFUL CAGE. ~CASSIE’S POV~ The garden sat behind the west wing of the house, hidden, quiet, smelling like lavender and rosemary. No guards inside. Just the occasional servant trimming roses. I sat on the edge of the fountain and pulled my knees up, resting my chin on them. I let myself feel. I thought of Lala. Probably at the beach, chasing boys, posting bikini selfies with dump captions. I thought of my aunt and uncle. Were they sleeping fine? Eating well?
