The elevator doors opened on the forty second floor of Lancrest Holdings and Daniel walked through like he owned the place. He always moved that way in spaces that didn’t belong to him. Like confidence alone could make him belong anywhere. Kai’s assistant looked up from her desk. “Mr Stephen,” she said. “Do you have an appointment?” “I don’t need one,” Daniel said pleasantly. “Kai and I are old friends.
