“I'm not going to get married to him father," my voice resounded against the cold slab of the tiles in the room.

You've nothing, Rory, I'm not going to let you marry him that peasant Rory,” my father's voice thundered back, regenerating through the room.

I stared at the people in the room, my eyes dimming with tears.

“You've two options Rory, marry that peasant and lose everything you own as a Mcllory or marry the man I want you to.

My father said and I stilled at his words, but I was adamant. I'm marrying him father, I said and turned to walk out of the room.

However, my marriage life was much more terrible than I'd ever thought and all hell was let loose when my dearest husband sold me off.

Chapter One
Rory's POV I walked into my father's library to beg again and have them allow me to marry Max, the man I'd fallen in love with in college. But my steps faltered when I noticed the presence of another man in the room, seated in one of my father's imposing leather chairs. His back was to me, yet the sheer power he exuded was palpable, almost suffocating, so much that I saw my father hiding the fact that he was affected by it. I didn't see his face as he turned backward and continued his conversation with my father. I turned to walk away to come back when he was done, when my ears caught the word MARRIAGE. I stood, unable to move, as I listened in on their conversation. My father was going to get me married to that man who was seated in front of him. Bile rose in my mouth as I walked closer, listening in on their conversation. I was going to be prepped for marriage, and a week later I was going to get married to him. I staggered backward, accidentally hitting the porcelain cup beside the table, and it fell to the ground, announcing my presence in the room. "Rory," My father called, his voice flat as though he wasn't discussing my life like he was playing a chess game. I tried to force a smile, but it wasn't coming as I stared languidly at the man in front of me, still facing backward. "Are you trying to sell me off to him?" I asked, no longer able to keep my voice from breaking. "It's marriage, Rory, not a Flesh trade," he said, and I scoffed. "Against my own will? Tell me, Father, then what the heck is it!" I yelled, my voice cracking. "You're just going to get married to him..." He said, but I shook my head. "I'm not going to get married to him!" I said with my hands folded on my chest. "I have someone I'm in love with, and I'm not going to be pawned off to your old sleazy men for business," I said, disregarding the presence of the man in the room. "Shut up Rory! That man is..." "I don't care about who he is, Father; I'm not going to get married to him," I said and walked out of the office. "Mom..." I called, walking to her, but the look on her face told me she'd already known about it. "Are you seriously going to watch Father sell me off to those men?" I asked, my voice laced with desperation. "You cannot get married to that man you claim to love Rory!" My father's voice resounded from the shadow of his office and I stared as he walked closer to me, each step enunciating lethalness. "I will, Father; not any of you can stop me from getting married to him. I will marry him, and if you insist, then you should bring your guns out to take my life," I said, staring back at my mother. Her eyes were pleading, but mine...was resolute. "You should try to understand what your father is saying, peaches; he wants the best for you; getting married to an ordinary man is not the best for our world, peaches," she said, holding her hands out to hold mine. "Do not touch me, Mom, for once Mom, I haven't asked for anything else, and now, all I'm asking is for you to let me marry the man I want, please..." I dragged, looking at her, but there was no sign of her listening to me. "You know that we will give you anything you want, peaches, the world, even if you want," my mother said. "I don't want the world Mom, I want him, I want Max, please..." I begged, my voice laced with exasperation. "I need you to understand Rory..." "I'll let you marry him on one condition, Rory," My father's voice cut through the conversation, and I turned to look at him as he walked closer. "You insist on getting married to your so-called Max and you give up every right you have as a Mcllroy." He stated. "What? You cannot possibly do that, so you're going to disown me because I insist on getting married to the man I love?" I stared back and forth at my mother and father, looking for any traces of sarcasm on their faces. "You've to choose Rory, because I will not let the only daughter of the Mcllroy family get married to a peasant in the name of love!" He said, and I stared blankly at them. "Then make another one. I didn't ask to be born into this kind of life, I didn't ask to be a pawn for your games of power and stakes of lives, and I would rather die than marry some sleazy old man you want to pawn me off," I said, pointing my fingers in their faces. "I gave you everything a child could want from her father. Love, money, education. I gave you all, and you choose this is the way you want to repay me? I sent you to the best institute of education there is in this world, and you went ahead to fall in love with a man who lives on a scholarship?" My father said, his words shooting daggers at my heart. "I didn't ask to be..." Pak! My mother's palm resounded harshly against my face. "You hit me mother," I blurted, my eyes red and swollen. "You know what? From this moment on, since you desperately want it, I, Rory McIlroy, disown you, your family and everything that associates with you," I said, eyes red with tears that streamed down my face. "Rory..." My mother called, but my father's stern eyes held her back from moving and inch forward. "I refuse to be the pawn that you are to him," I added, before turning away from the room, them, their life and their so-called world.
