Chapter 6 Thursday As he did every morning, DEA Agent Jacob Wilford rose at five a.m. sharp and slipped quietly out of bed so he would not disturb his wife. He crept stealthily into the bathroom, where he changed into his running gear before he left the bedroom. And just as he had every morning for the last five years, he did some light stretching in the pre-dawn stillness of his home’s front foyer.
