Violetta- A Wolf Still Needs To Learn

1555 Words
Violetta POV A sudden scent had forced its way into my circle, a smell I hadn't smelled before, it appeared natural. 'Luka?' I turned Jake stood there, smiling, a smile I had missed. But it soon faded. "Can we talk?" "Sure. What about?" "Not here." He grabs my hand and passes onward. What could be so serious, for him to hurry? Why couldn't we talk here? I follow him around the college. Up the stairs towards an empty classroom. "Jake, what happened?" I feel anxious, why are we walking and not talking? Why is he taking me away from everyone? "What are we doing?" He forced me into a classroom, shutting the door, and looking to see if anyone followed us. "You're scaring me," I whisper. "I need to show you something." "What?" ... "Jake?" He slowly turns, and my body forces itself backwards, my fangs exposed, I try to hide them, but my eyes glow a heated green, and my claws grab onto the nearest chair, "Stay away from me!" The chair broke as it collided with him. Was it him? Was it him in my dreams? "It's me, Vi. It's Jake?" I shake my head as he comes closer, "You're not alone." I don't want to look, it feels unreal, and scary as I look towards him. Is that what I look like? Do I look like that? His face formed back to its normal human self, he walked slower to me, holding his hand out to a terrified animal. "Trust me." My hand touched his warm human hand and fell into his arms. "You're not alone." ... "But it is impossible." I open my locker and whisper as he leans closer to me, my whole world has exploded, "I'm sure I would have noticed." All the time together during high school, I knew about myself before I had fully changed. "My family was murdered by werewolves, Vi." He blurts out in the middle of the corridor. "What? What are you saying? But no. I wouldn't have known, my family, would not have noticed. Don't say that. Don't say something like that." My anger rises, and my throat burns with rage, "I have to go." "Violet!" Jake's voice disappears as I run to my dorm room... Hours later I came back to reality, I shouldn't have left him like that, everything just hit me all at once, he must have been alone, like me. His family was gone, his little sister, oh god. "Jake, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to." his head shook as if my apologies were okay, but they were not. I wrapped my arms around him, pulling him closer to me, the scent will never become familiar, I hope that's a good thing. "How many wolves are out there?" I mumble trying to force the lump from my throat to disappear, why didn't I ask before, about his family, when he told me? "More than you can imagine." "So where are the ones that killed your family?" I more or less couldn't say it. "They turned me and left me for dead, I have been looking for them ever since." I rip my eyes away from him. "I didn't do it, Jake. I swear I didn't" I panic. I hope he doesn't think it is me. They were my family too. He is my family. "Don't be stupid Violet. I wouldn't ever believe you could do something so evil." Jake's hand relaxed on my cheek and for a moment I closed my eyes to feel his comfort. "Vi?" Jake mutters. "Yes," I mumble. He is worried; he feels agitated. I leaned against the locker, gazing at his sky-blue eyes. I may be glad that he was turned, I am not alone anymore, and because he studied werewolves all his life, he can teach me, sort of teach me. I hope he knows more than I think he does. But his family, when he told me back there, I didn't know how to feel, it felt unreal. "Well, I need to tell you about your- " "Vi, let's go!" I shot back, Anna waiting for me. I should go, but I look back to Jake who beams like a lost puppy. "I will tell you later." He spoke. "Jake," I mumble, he left as Anna trots towards me. "Is that Jake?" Belle said as she linked to Anna. "Yeah, you are right, he is hot." I glare at Anna, giving her an evil stare. She has been talking again. "Anna. You know why before during high school, I hung out with boys, no gossiping." "And then you met me, halfway through." Anna beams. "Yeah, and now, I regret it." She hits me, taking me with her to the next lesson. History began as usual, Professor Mason still looks ruff as if he isn't sleeping at night, he walks by us, looking at the bright computer screens, he stops at mine, reading it through, I look up as he catches my eye. "Sir," I whisper. "Yes, Violet." "Drink hot water, lemon, and honey before you sleep. It might work." I pointed towards my eyes as if I had the same dark bags as he did. "Or a lavender candle, anything strong." "Thank you." He hides his smile. "I mean, how am I supposed to pass this class if my professor looks like a zombie.' He laughs but holds it in to not distract the students. "Yes, Miss." Grinning as his head went down and he looked straight back at the computer for me to carry on. It is nice to have a teacher on your side, only one and it makes school much easier. He is married, I think. No, he was married, and divorced but has a baby girl. I look over back at the front where a desk is replaced by a smaller one... "Mr. Redwood. Are you in this class?" "I sure am." He grins, and Jake strolls in. Does he find history that exciting? The professor didn't say anything, just waiting for him to take his seat. Jake walks by me, giving me a quick smirk, I giggle, I feel a little normal while he is here, it feels great, as if he is my family, my wolf family, I mean he is the only one until Hunter turns up. "So, does anyone know why Mr Brad-Ville was travelling with his wife?" He asked. "Anyone?" "He was running with his wife who was pregnant with his first child, they were running away to find a sorcerer who could help his wife, who had been poisoned." I turned to Jake, anyone would have known I was shocked, but everyone felt as if he was crazy, laughing. 'This isn't looking good for you know boy' I winced away from him until something weird happened. "She wasn't poisoned, she was cursed, a curse that a lot of people had." Luka sneers, that was quite surprising, one; he is in this lesson and two, he hardly talks. The class watches as they both challenge each other. "Okay, okay, that's great. Everyone, I hope you have myths like these, just like I said last lesson, I want myths and stories." Anna slid a piece of paper that read, 'Do they know each other?' I shook my head, but maybe they do. Jake hasn't told me much yet. But I will ask him later. He has so many secrets that I want to take from him... "Miss Rose, can I speak to you for a moment?" Mrs. Jane pops her head out of the classroom as I walk by. "Of course, Mrs. Jane," I told Anna to carry on without me as I walked through the door Mrs. Jane opened for me. She smiles, wandering behind her desk, she holds a piece of paper in her hands. "Am I in trouble?" I mumble. "No, dear. You are not." She laughs. "I just wanted to say, I have read your paper, and I think your opinions are great." "You do?" "I do. And I also want to apologize for the other day, I was very unprofessional, and I just..." She mumbles as if she is forcing herself not to cry. "Everyone has an opinion..." "Mrs. Jane. Are you okay?" A tear falls down her cheek. "I am also sorry about the way I have been treating you, I understand, and I have realized that I may have been singling you out. It's just you remind me of my daughter." She stutters, she has never mentioned her daughter before, being in this school for five years, any or mostly all the teachers mention one of their family or any sort of history, my music teacher always mentions his mom, dad, and brother, and most of the times, his mental ex-girlfriends, but Mrs. Jane, not even her dog. I walked over towards her, as her tears fell more, and opened my arms when she laughed and took a quick hug, the smell felt strange, stranger than I have ever smelled anyone before, but before I could take any more in, we let go. She coughs up the rest of the tears and hands me the paper the grade plastered all over it making me chuckle. "Keep up the good work, Violet." "Thank you, Mrs. Jane." ...
