Mafia Queen

I woke up in the hospital. It was too bright, however, and it took my eyes at least a few seconds to adjust to the light. A man in his 50s stood over my bed smiling and touching my face. Something about him made me hardly trust him. I couldn't speak. But I had hundreds of questions about what I was doing here and most of all ... Who am I anyway? I tried to speak, but my words never left my throat.  "Rest baby, a lot has happened lately." the man said. When he tried to touch my arm, I rolled off the bed to avoid his touch. He seemed surprised by my reaction, but I couldn't see any trace of sadness on his face.  "Baby, is something wrong?" He asked. "Who are you and why do you claim to be my dad?" I growled, still not giving him a bit of confidence. I didn't get a reply.  The man wanted to speak again, but decided not to continue the discussion. He left an envelope on my locker and left the room, banging hard on the sounds. I stood up with a low groan and lay back on the bed, reaching for the envelope with my hand.  "my sweet little Rose ... I can't tell you this straight out, but as soon as you leave the hospital you will be handed over to my friend to whom I promised you years ago. Don't be angry with me, but I had no choice. After I lost my life. Your mother, I fell into a long time and I needed money. I'm sure Nick will treat you well. I hope you will forgive me for that one day." Did my father literally ... sell me? It sounds like a sick story from a weak short story! I felt like my father was Amelia Dyer, that woman that was killing kids she couldn't sell. In the letter, I found a few photos of a rather handsome but elderly man. He had dark brown hair that faded slightly to red, bright green eyes, and he seemed quite tall and well built. In one of the photos there was a woman standing with him, which, surprisingly, I knew ... She had light brown short hair, blue eyes, and was dressed in a beautiful green gown, probably expensive. For some strange reason, the man seemed much more trustworthy than the one who claimed to be my father. I put down the strange letter and opened the bedside cabinet to find a cardboard box that I opened at once. There were pretty nice clothes and a pair of flat shoes. At the bottom of the package there was a note with the words "for a good start of the relationship. I'll see you tomorrow at the airport". For a moment I was quite depressed, but maybe this is actually a chance for a better life? Maybe the new company will help me remember who I am? I calmed down and decided pretty quickly that it might be a good idea. If my father did not want me, which he wrote in his letter, and I do not have a penny to my heart ... Perhaps this will be what will give me happiness. After all, it can't get any worse than it is.
