Eliza takes Persephone outside to a secluded area in the garden and rubs her back gently, “talk to me, Perse.” I only have one day until the ceremony, and I do not even know my birth name. “Your birth name is Elara, Perse. It’s so strange to say it out loud now since you have gone by your wolfs name this whole time.” Haha, thank you Eliza, I know you were waiting for the right time to tell me. “It’s up tp you if you wish to announce your true name tomorrow night, I prefer the name Xalmos gave you, little one.” She nudges me giggling and I can’t help myself either. How has everything been for you, Eliza? I watch has a huge grin consumes her face, “Honestly it’s been amazing. We still have yet to mate, Xalmos is waiting for the right moment. I smile and grabbed her hands. That’s wonderful. I’m sure he wants to make it special for both of you.

“How is Leon?” She wiggles her eyebrows at me, causing me to chuckle, he has been extremely supportive and attentive. “I can tell, everything around here is so lush and green, and you’re glowing like the moon. It’s a good look for you, Elara. I hope Xalmos and I are invited to the Luna Ceremony?”. I wrapped my arms around her tightly, YES! I could not even imagine not having you there. I started tearing up. We have been through so much together, and I do not want it to stop because you’re in another realm. We began crying and holding each other until a soft cough interrupted us. We look over to Xalmos who is patently waiting, “I have to go, we have an angel to interrogate and a wolf to track down.” I wish there was a way to stay in contact with you… “There is. I have left a gift on your vanity, Luna Elara” Xalmos chimed in. I nodded and smiled at them as they opened a portal to head home. I heard Eliza yell, “I’ll see you tomorrow night!”

I smiled with excitement knowing one of my best friends would be there despite her new title and mate. I took a deep breath and started making my way back to the pack house and had some more moon flowers blooming over the land for tomorrow night. After a minute or two, I decided I was ready to finish this conversation. I mindlinked Leon and he told me they were in the library doing some research. I asked a kitchen omega to make sandwiches and to take drinks to the guys as I made my way into house and then the kitchen. I grabbed a drink and headed for the library; upon my arrival I saw both of them munching down with towers of books all over the place. I approached both of them rather seriously, and asked in a serious tone; so, what have you found?

Alpha Samuel and Leon looked up towards me with a confused look on their faces. I did not realize my Luna aura was overwhelming them, I kept staring, waiting for an answer and then I felt their wolves cry out to submit. I slowly took two steps back in shock, my breathing became erratic as my tears started to water. “You’re getting stronger now that you’re with you full mated and claiming a Luna title officially. I stared at him with a concerned look, the fact that he is going about this like it was nothing, the pain of his wolf. Leon just stared at me, not saying a word, I looked between them and took a few more steps back. I-I- I am sorry for what I have put you both through… “I have been through worse Perse. I’ll be fine. To answer your question, yes I have found something.” Thank you, Samuel. Please send what you have found to my office or leave it with one of my guards to take it. I turned as fast as possible and left the library and started speed walking away. Alex was waiting outside the door and followed close behind. “Luna, are you alright?” I- I’m fine!

Elara, calm down. Your Luna aura is overwhelming those in your presence…

What?... I looked back and Alex and the staff working were bowing their heads in submission. Leon and Samuel came out when they felt my aura again, and I saw the look in his eyes… Leon feared me. I started gasping for air while Perse tried to calm me. “Listen to your wolf, Perse.” Samuel said as he approached me calmly. That’s not even my name, I looked at him with tears in my eyes, I don’t think I can do this! I started running for the front door and I hear Leon calling my name, and as I run out of the Packhouse like a bat out of hell I can feel Leon getting ready to come after me. Alex stops him saying to give me space. As I keep running toward the forest, I decide to run faster to everyone’s view. Jumping over the fence I shift in midair, destroying my clothes.

Perse, I don’t know if I can do this… I’m afraid of what I’m becoming.

My dear Elara, there will always be moments where it feels like this, where it feels impossible. Sometimes nothing makes sense, all we can do is hold our ground. If we fall, we get right back up, and if you do not have the strength, I will get back up for the both of us.

As I kept running, I focused on the earth beneath my paws, the scent, and fresh air. I decided to keep running until I felt I put a good amount of distance between me and the packhouse. This spot has a wonderful aura to it, I shift into my human form using my long hair to hide my breast and laid down. I touched the grass and felt a new sense of power rushing through me. As I take a deep breath to focus on my surroundings, I heard a twig snap in the direction I came from… I tried catching a scent, but the wind was blowing in the same direction, so I shifted and was in full attack mode until he popped out. “I promised your guards and Leon I would watch over you, but you looked so sad, so I’m here to keep you company now. I’m sorry you have to go through this alone.”

I felt fat tears roll down my cheeks, I covered my face with my hands and sat back down. I felt him sit down next me to and put a robe around me. “You’re welcome by the way… I don’t hand deliver robes to maidens in the forest, rumor is - nymphs live here and lure poor innocent wolves to their untimely demise.” I couldn’t help but let out the laugh from this random comment, especially such a stuck-up guy! I looked over at him and saw him holding out a gift box. Is this the gift you were talking about earlier? “Yeah, I asked if Alex could get it from your office. I thought it could cheer you up”.

I stared at the gift and back to him who was trying to smile… Samuel, are you trying to smile? “Shut up.” I chuckled while taking the gift from his hand and for a moment if felt like a spark when are fingertips brushed each other. I quickly pulled my hand back and started fumbling when I was trying to untie the bow. I saw from my peripheral that a look of shock was on his face as well and decided to say anything. I just realized this is the first present I’m actually opening up, haha. I saw a small smile flash across his face that quickly turned into a frown.

I opened the gift and my eyes filled with tears; it was a jewelry set embedded with sapphires. Samuel, I cannot accept such a lavish gift! “Sure, you can, and it goes with the crown my mother has for you.” I reached over to hug as a thank you, and there it was… Sparks. I quickly pulled back, and he was staring at me dumbfounded. “Perse, I know our relationship did not start off great, but I have my reasons. Now all I want to do is protect you.” I watched him sigh and look up to the sky, as if he was going to say something important but he quickly changed his tune. “What did you mean when you said that’s not even my name?” I looked down at the gift in my hands, my birth name is Elara, I was using my wolfs name this entire time, since I have no memory of my human life, or my life with the moon goddess. “Elara… I think that’s a beautiful name, he said smiling. While I enjoy this one-on-one time with you Elara, I think we should head back now.” I am not ready to go back, I don’t think Leon wants to see me after I lost control… Suddenly Samuel was kneeling in front of me, “Elara”, he placed both of his hands on either side of my cheeks, and we both quivered from the sparks.
