Episode 001
Enzo pov
I look at the profile picture on my phone, a familiar face that has not changed for years. It strikes me hard even after so many years. I sigh, going through the messages I sent her over the last three years—every one unanswered. What a fool I've been.
FLASHBACK
It has been a month since I broke up with Sera and staked Fiore as mine. It's all been beneficial, or I've tried convincing myself of that. Sera hasn't contacted me, but I occasionally look at her profile. It's like an addiction that I can't break, even though I know better. I should hate her, but something is drawing me back.
"What's wrong, babe?" Fiore's warm and soft hand glides on my arm. I look at her—red hair and brown eyes. She is beautiful, and she is carrying my child.
"Nothing. Go back to sleep," I mumble, kissing her forehead. She burrows back into the blanket, but my mind won't stop. Something's off. A niggling feeling in my stomach tells me I should go and check on Sera and make sure she is okay. But why? She left me. She betrayed me. She doesn't deserve my concern.
After pushing the thought aside, I drift off to sleep, only to awaken to a loud banging on my door.
"Prez, we need to go. The Morettis held an emergency meeting, Blaze, my VP, sounded urgent. I groan and rub my face as I sit up, the Carvallo—this might be concerning their daughter, However, Sera wouldn't have said anything if she hadn't been trying to tarnish mine, I thought as I dressed up in a hurry.
"What's going on? Why the emergency?" I ask, sipping the coffee someone gave me as I leave.
"We don't know, I've tried to find out, but they say it's time-sensitive, we need to leave now." Blaze stares at me thoughtfully, and I know not to ask again, the Carvallo don't wait, when they call, we move.
My father, Massimo, and Donato have been a team for years. That's how I met Sera. She was four years younger, but we got along, we had fun, and it became real between us when she turned eighteen, I stole her virginity in secret, and for some time, it was just us, hiding from the world.
Then, those damn photos came. Four photos ruined everything.
I remember when Sera caught Fiore and me, she had to see the results of her actions, she denied everything, and we quarreled, she slapped me, I didn't care, she got what she deserved.
I get on my bike, with Blaze and Nico following me, we leave the compound and ride for hours before we arrive at the Carvallo estate, the air is heavy as we enter the mansion. I shake hands with the other heads at the table, they are all as confused as I am, why are we here?
We do not need to wait for anyone to give us a signal, Nato appears, looking older and worn down, next to him, Teagan seems as if she hasn't slept in days, her eyes are red, as if she has been crying.
Thank you for coming at such short notice. Please, sit." Donato says, his voice trembling a little. He picks up a distraught Teagan and puts her on his lap, and I feel a knot in my stomach.
"We've brought you here because our daughter, our Sera, is missing," Donato says. The words slapped me in the face like a punch in the gut. I stand still, eyes widening, as whispers spread across the table. I look at Blaze, who glares at me, the conversation is tightening, the topic can't be about me.
"How long has she been missing?" I ask the question, slipping it out before I can stop it.
"A week," Donato answers, she has not been by herself for quite a while now, she told me she was going to the gym the day she left, she never came back, we know that she drained her bank accounts and sold her car, her phone is off, or she has thrown it away. That's not like Sera, She's not a spoiled brat, she does not do things like this, Whatever is happening, it isn't good.
I have a pit in my stomach, fear crawling up my spine. I'm not enjoying the direction this is taking.
"There's more," Donato says, his voice darkening. "We believe we know why she ran." He looks at me, and my blood freezes. Oh, s**t. He knows.
"Sera is pregnant," Donato whispers. I can't breathe, Yesterday, we got something in the mail—pictures of Sera with various men. We had our people investigate it, and the photos seemed fake. It appears that whoever did this was trying to intimidate her into running.
"What did you get?" one of the other heads asks in a low voice.
"We photoshopped the photos." My team has already verified it. Therefore, Sera, being the person that she is, would have tried to do the right thing, she would have gone to him and told him, but knowing our daughter, I suspect he rejected her, and now she has run away to protect herself. We think that she is hiding somewhere.
Teagan stares at me, her eyes are cold, and my stomach drops.
"Do you know who the father is?" someone else asks. I feel my fists clench. The words are a slap in the face. However, Teagan's eyes are never off me, she knows, she's talking about me.
"We have an idea. Sera would have attempted to go to him, but knowing the kind of man she is dealing with, he likely turned her and the child away. And that's why she ran. She's a DeLuca. We know how to disappear when we have to," Teagan says, her voice calm but in pain. My heart pounds irregularly in my chest.
I'm the man she came to, I'm the one she trusted, and it is I who let her down. I believed the fake photos, I thought of the lies, and now Sera is gone, somewhere out there with my child, alone, scared.
The rest of the meeting is a haze. All I can see is her—her tear-stained face, her trembling hands, and how she covered her belly. She's pregnant with my child.
END OF FLASHBACK
In Savage, the next town, we're meeting Solomon. We have to move," Blaze says, bringing me out of my thoughts.
My phone rings now, and I don't have to look at it to know it's Fiore. I groan without answering. I haven't spoken to her since I dumped her three months ago. I took her back when I discovered that she was not pregnant, as she had claimed. The ultrasound proved that she was lying, and that was when I ended it for good. She said she did not send the pictures, but I knew better. She was behind it all.
"Alright, let's go," I say, and I leave the motel. Blaze, Rafe, and I ride out to the town where we'll meet Solomon, the president of a sister MC. It's a common meeting, but this town is different in some way.
We stopped at a bar called Eclipse. It's lovely, the kind of place that is homey and relaxed. The bartender looks like he's going to faint when he sees us. I laugh to myself as he runs off to get some help.
We are rowdy bikers, but we don't cause trouble. We are here to see Solomon, nothing else.
But then I see her.
She has long blonde hair, her honey-colored eyes wide, her chest rising and falling with panic. It's her. I look twice, and my heart pauses.
"Sera."
