Becky is at my dad’s apartment for the weekend. It’s a two-bedroom place, so we decided we would take turns spending the weekend with him. Becky also stays there on Wednesday nights if my dad isn’t traveling for work, which he doesn’t have to do often. My parents are at least trying to make this as painless as possible for us. I’m not sure if it’s working, though. It’s tough leaving my mom on Friday night and even tougher saying goodbye to my dad on Sunday afternoon. I cling to a futile hope they will get back together, but they’re settling into their new lives.
Mom’s got an interview at one of the department stores at the mall. She hasn’t worked for a while, so she’s resigned herself to finding any job at this point. Finances were one of the sore subjects in the marr
