Chapter2

Nora peeped outside the window and she saw a large crowd standing outside, one thing she didn’t understand was why they kept on shouting like they were hailing a public figure.

Nora was keen in looking for her parents, suddenly her eyes met with her mother’s eye in the midst of the large crowd. Nora was so confused as she is yet to understand how her parents who were with her in the house suddenly disappeared and now they are outside. She only saw her mother but she was uncertain about where her father was.

Nora was still wondering what was happening when she heard a knock on her door, she headed for the door with a little bit of fear in her. She finally got to the door and she asked with fear in a voice, who’s there?

Another voice replied, it is me. Nora wasn’t certain of the voice that responded back to her but all she knew was that the voice was very familiar.

She opened the door and it was Cathy who came to see her. They both exchanged pleasantries and Nora offered her a seat . Nora then went in to get her a glass of juice.

Cathy sat down thinking of why she wasn’t seeing any sign of Nora’s parents so she decided to ask Nora about the whereabouts of her parents. Nora in a very confused state told her that her mother was outside but she hasn’t seen her father in a while now.

As Nora mentioned her father, that was when it came to the mind of Cathy that the last time she heard about Nora’s father was when he was in the hospital and after that she didn’t hear anything about him again neither did Nora tell her about the wellbeing of her father.

Cathy, who has always been a good friend of Nora, decided to ask Nora about her father. Cathy was scared to ask Nora about her father because she thought he was dead due to the fact that Nora and her family didn’t have the kind of money needed for the surgery and besides she didn’t want to remind Nora.

Nora perceived something was not right with Cathy and then she decided to break the silence by telling Cathy that her father is still very much alive. She told her not to worry about him.

Cathy was so surprised that Nora could perceive what she was thinking. On hearing this, Cathy’s curiosity on knowing how they were able to raise the money for his surgery arose.

Nora felt unease when Cathy asked her how they were able to raise the money for the surgery because she didn’t know how to tell Cathy that she was getting married to someone she doesn't love all because she wanted to save the life of her dying father.

Nevertheless, Nora still opened up to Cathy and explained to her how the only option left for them at that moment was her getting married to billionaire Derick. Nora expressed her

displeasure to Cathy.

Cathy was so speechless after hearing all Nora said. She couldn’t believe what she heard as she was left in total shock.

Cathy started to feel bad for Nora,she regretted why she wasn’t able to assist Nora when she needed her help and was really sorry for Nora because she could feel the pain Nora was going through,but then, she had to ask Nora what she was going to do.

Nora told Cathy that she was going to run away and by doing so everybody would think she was lost and by the time she comes back, billionaire Derick would no longer be interested in her.

Cathy hearing this decided to assist her in her plan of running away,Cathy then asked Nora where she was running to and if she knew anybody in the country she was running to?

Nora then told her that she shouldn’t bother about where she was going and that she already had everything planned out in her head. She confided in Cathy about her plans and they both agreed to keep it a secret.

Just as Cathy was about leaving, Nora’s parents came inside and Cathy greeted Nora’s parents but she only got a response from Nora’s mother while Nora’s father was lost in his thoughts so he didn’t even notice that Cathy was around.

As Cathy left, Nora closed the door after her and went in to see her mother . Nora was so alarmed and troubled as to why her father didn’t notice the presence of her friend,her mother who didn’t want to explain the reason behind Mr Williams actions just told Nora that she should go and take a nap.

Nora was frustrated about the whole thing and went into her room to lay on her bed. As Nora laid down, she was less troubled this time around because she had already found out a way in which she would use to escape from the marriage between her and billionaire Derick.

Nora’s father came outside from his room and dropped a white envelope on the table and called out Nora’s name with a very loud voice,she hurriedly came out to answer her father who told her to have a seat.

There was a little silence in their midst until Mr Williams cleared his throat and told Nora to pick up the envelope on the table and read it.

Nora then picked up the envelope and she started reading the contents of the letter, as she read the letter she couldn’t believe what she just read. After Nora finished reading, she faced her father and told him impossible.

Her father who was confused by what she meant by impossible decided to confront her. Nora told her father that it was impossible for her to marry billionaire Derick. The look on Nora’s face was so stern that her father never believed she could talk to him that way.

Her father became angry and asked her if she’s going to watch him die when they had a solution to make him live? He then told her that she should go get herself prepared for tomorrow as billionaire Derick would be coming to take her.

It was already the early hours of the day and billionaire Derick is to come and take Nora. Nora was fully awake packing her bags and waiting for the right time to come before she disappears. Nora carefully packed all what she would be needing into a small bag and she zipped the bag.

Nora’s mother knocked on Nora’s door and she entered inside the room with a tray of food in her hands. Nora’s mother knew that her daughter wasn’t happy but all the same, there was nothing she could do.

Nora’s mother told her that she should get herself prepared because billionaire Derick has already sent a message that he’s on his way. As Nora saw her mother leave, tears rolled down her cheeks because she knew that she would not be seeing her again.

Billionaire Derick is already here and he was comfortably sitted in the living room. Billionaire Derick came around with all his escorts and police officers and they surrounded every corner of the house.

Nora was just in her room paying close attention to their discussion and waiting for them to beckon on her so that she could use the back door in her room to escape.

After billionaire Derick has spoken with Nora’s parents, he requested for Nora to come out so they could get going. Nora’s parents had no choice than to call their daughter out.

As Nora opened the door, she stepped outside and wanted to take off, and as she put her head outside to check, she ran into one of the policemen outside and out of shock, she fainted.
