CHAPTER ONE: SHE IS GONE.
"Nice to meet you again, Chairman."
"Alpha Leo, it's a great pleasure on my side too." The Chairman replied as he clicked the tip of his glass against Leo's. It was the annual event of Leo's company as a businessman that he was. Only werewolves were in attendance - it was crucial that way and was the most appealing. Humans were not much which gave the werewolves a stronger secret impact on the former in terms of everything. Leo was dressed in a formal black suit and his long hair was packed into a ponytail which gave him a well-dignifying look amongst all the other men. He was quite charming as well because the ladies wouldn't stop ogling and giving him passes with their eyes. Unlike his former behavior when he would have turned to them for pleasure, tonight seemed different.
He moved away from the chairman to greet other people and discuss a few things when he saw his Beta rush in hurriedly. His eyes seemed to have a long-lasting gaze at the door as if expecting someone to follow suit but none came in right after his Beta who then sought his attention.
"Alpha, do you have a minute to spare?" He moved closer and whispered. Leo nodded and excused himself, walking a few feet away from the audience.
"What's the problem?" He sipped his drink while his eyes were moving from one position to another in search of somebody.
Francis hesitated for a while before responding, "She is gone."
"Hmm." He nodded unconsciously but then realization dawned on him a few seconds after and he looked at his Beta with widened suspicious eyes, seeking more clarification regarding the news he delivered.
"What did you just say? Who is gone?"
"I and the rest of the men searched around for her but she is nowhere to be seen..." Francis was cut shut quickly as Leo angrily threw the glass cup against the wall and a few people screamed because of the unexpected action. His face became more stern and his eyes were slowly changing colors. Seeing this, Francis opted to stare at his feet instead as he awaited the god's glooming anger.
The musicians who were playing different types of instruments to entertain the guests suddenly stopped and watched with wonder.
Whispers started and so did its sister, gossips.
"What's going on?"
"Who made him mad this time around?"
"Who else is going to make him mad if not that silly b*tch."
A few men approached the raging Alpha but before they could say a word, Leo started questioning them.
"What do you mean by that? She is gone?! Why is that a f*cking problem for you guys to handle? I need you all to search for her immediately - search for her. She must not have gone that far. Search for her immediately! Bring her body to me either dead or alive. If you fail to do this, your precious head will be placed on that platter, do you understand?" He yelled, his whole body shaking as he was glaring at Francis. The latter exhaled, nodded, and bowed before taking his leave with the other men.
The rumors died down a little bit when he looked around with a solidified anger. He exited the hall as well.
How dare she leave? Who was she to leave him?
"If I get my hands on you, Amelia, just get ready to say your last prayers, you f*cking b***h!" Leo said through his gritted teeth and entered his awaiting car. The driver immediately started the engine and moved even though he didn't know which destination his Alpha would like to go to.
Different thoughts were running through his mind. He did see a lot of reasons she would leave but he wasn't still expecting her to. His phone started ringing nonstop and he was forced to answer after a while.
"Alpha, what happened? Where are you going? Please come back and let's discuss this issue amicably." An older man spoke to him on the phone but he was not ready to listen, so he ended the call instantly too.
He needed no one to tell him what exactly he was supposed to do with his breeder. The driver finally arrived at the pack house and he bolted out of the car, dashing into the house at full speed. His whole body was shaking as he walked past a few of the members who were probably dressed up as well for the event but seeing their Alpha behaving this way - was totally uncalled for.
He climbed the staircase in a rush and walked towards her room, without knocking, he barged in.
The room was lifeless, cold and empty. There was really nothing special about it. This was his first time entering her room and sincerely, it gave off the vibe of another world in existence. He went to the bathroom but there was no one there, he pulled the wardrobe open with a lot of force that the door almost got removed but her clothes were already spiraled on the floor. Moreover, that place couldn't hold a human.
Was she really gone? Leo kept believing in himself that she couldn't have gone far, she belonged to him and him alone so he decided to set himself on a journey to search for her that night. On his way down the stairs, he met a chocolate-skinned lady who looked worried as well while climbing the stairs. She also seemed to be heading towards the room Leo was coming back from when they met. She bowed to greet him.
"Alpha."
"Rose, where is Amelia?" Leo asked.
"I...I don't know your highness. It was Francis who informed me that she had run away so I came here as soon as I could. Alpha, we need to look for her as quickly as possible because she might be in danger. Not when she is carrying living beings within her."
Leo's neck almost got twisted at that spot. He battered his eyelashes as the new piece of information sunk in. He stared at the young lady in awe and confusion and immediately raised his hands to calm himself as a mocking chuckle graced the cold atmosphere.
"What did you just say?"
Rose even seemed to be more shocked than anyone else, "I...I said she was carrying living beings within her. Amelia is pregnant, Alpha. I thought you knew about this..."
Leo covered his face with his thick palms and growled, he pushed Rose to the side and quickly got off the stairs. By now, the pack members had gathered around, wondering what next to do.
"I need you all to search for Amelia immediately! Go and look for her. She couldn't have gotten that far. I promise to reward whosoever finds her first." He yelled and everyone scurried off to look for the most hated being in the pack - Amelia.
