CHAPTER TEN
The boys came back to Ausable’s with Anna so they could pack what they needed for the trip to Fairfield. Will had business meetings in the morning, so they would be taking the noon train. Anna wrote a note to be delivered to Margaret.
“Ausable, I can’t believe Will agreed to let us stay with Margaret.”
“I hope he’ll come around eventually.”
“I don’t know. The divorce will most likely decree that the boys can have no contact with you. I have a lot of thinking to do.”
The boys were quiet at dinner that evening. Anna and Ausable did their level best to keep them entertained in conversation.
