Chapter 9

“Where do you think you are going Elizabeth?” Mother asks. ‘No no no, please Moon Goddess, let me go with my mate.’ I silently pray. “Mom. I found my mate.” I tell her.

I silently hold my mate’s hand, gripping it tight. Making sure he is still there by my side. “Does that really matter Elizabeth? What have we told you about you no having a mate? How many times do we have to tell you this? Are you even listening at all?” I stood there, shocked at her outbursts. What on earth is she doing?

“Mom, you guys said that I wouldn’t find my mate, but I did find him. And I will be leaving with him and you guys cannot do anything about it.” I tried to sound like I did not care, but deep inside, I was scared. I have no idea what they are going to do to stop me.

“Oh, please Elizabeth, don’t try to trick us into thinking he is your mate. You probably paid him to pretend. We are not stupid. Now stop with your stupid nonsense and let’s go back home.” My father exclaimed angrily.

“Excuse me Sir, but you are wrong. I am her true mate, and parent or not I will not allow you to talk to her that at all.” Shawn said.

“Who do you think you are young man?” “I am Alpha Shawn, from the Black Moon pack.”

My parents turn white. They know that the Black Moon pack is not to be messed up with.

“You are her mate?” My mother asks nervously. “Yes, is there a problem with that? I will not tolerate you two disrespecting my mate like that.”

“Excuse me Alpha Damien, you don’t have to lie and protect our daughter. We know how sneaky she can be. She is trying to runaway from home when she knows she can never find her mate. She knows that very well, so she will go to any level and say she has found her mate when we all know it is not true.” My father says. The nerve of him lying to my mate, and in front of me! Why can’t they just stop already?!

Shawn gets pissed after hearing my father. “EXCUSE ME?! PRETEND!?! WHO DO YOU TAKE AS A FOOL SIR? SHE IS MY TRUE MATE AND THERE IS NO DENYING THAT! I WILL NOT TOLERATE THE DISRESPECT OF MY MATE LIKE THAT!!!!” Shawn yells.

I could tell my father was trying to hold his ground, but he was losing a battle. Soon enough, Alpha Damien and Luna Marie walk up to us.

“What on earth is going here?” Alpha Damien questions. “Alpha, it seems that these people have no common sense. They are disrespecting my mate and I with such nonsense.” Shawn explains.

“Diego, Lory, what are you doing? This is Alpha Shawn, and he is Liz’s true mate.” “I’m sorry Luna, but we know how Elizabeth is crazy over the idea of finding her mate when she knows she won’t find him.” Mother says.

“What makes you think that Liz was not going to find her mate? Or perhaps that is what you guys made her think so she wouldn’t come to the ceremony?” Luna questions them. They both looked down, ashamed that they had been caught with making the lies. I knew them too well. They will try any ways possible to take me back. I cannot let that happen. I squeezed Shawn’s hand, ready to go. He understood my hint right away.

“If you can excuse us Alpha, Luna, but we have a long drive back to get to. It was a pleasure to meet you. Please visit us at any time. Our home is open for you.” “Thank you, Alpha Shawn. Drive back safely and we see you all soon.” Luna replies. We all said our good-bye’s, ignoring my parents, who whereby the side looking at me with glares that could kill. We leave all together and get into the cars that were running. As soon as we left the area, I was able to relax. I let out a deep sigh I did not know I was holding back.

“Do not worry Princess, they will think twice before doing anything stupid.” Shawn says. “I know Shawn, but I know them. They will find ways to take me back to them.” Shawn turns to look at me. “No! I will never let anyone take you away from me Princess. You will be protected at all costs. Come, just rest ok. I’ll wake you up when we get there ok?” I lean into him, closing my eyes. ‘I’ll just close my eyes for a bit.’ I thought to myself. Soon, I fell asleep, in the arms of my mate, peacefully.
