The week went by fast. The weekend was here already. With all the preparations Luna made us do, and having fun, we were all sad it was coming to an end. The girls and I had so much fun with Luna, I didn’t want this to end so soon. It was already Friday afternoon, a day before the ceremony. We were all getting ready to leave for the location where the ceremony is being held. Since its only an hour drive for us, Alpha Damien decided to leave in the afternoon, when most of the packs already arrived. By 4 o’clock, we were already leaving. During the whole week, I haven’t seen nor heard of my parents. I was glad. I have no idea what they would do to stop me from going. An hour later, we arrived. It was packed already. Tents already set up, grills popping out, packs interacting with others. It was a view.
“Now, you must all behave, understood? I don’t want no fights this weekend. We are here to find your mates, getting ready for a brand-new life.” Luna told us. We all nodded, excited, wondering who will find their mates that weekend.
I was nervous. I dreamed of meeting my mate, taking me away from my parents. To love me and protect me. I lost focus, daydreaming of my wonderful mate I yet must meet. Claire nudge me right away. “Come on girl, lets go. We have to get to our tents before it gets dark.” We hurriedly left the bus that brought us here, following our Alpha to our area. We all got accommodated while we still had some light.
“Gather around now. It’s almost dinner time, so we will be going with the other packs to the main building. Now, you must all remember, no fighting or starting no type of commotion. If by any chance you find your mate anytime we are here, let us know what your plans before the ceremony weekend ends.” Alpha Damien tells us. We were all whispering, looking around to see if by any chance we could see our mates. We arrived at the building for dinner. We all sat together at table. Other packs started coming in and sitting around. By the looks of it, some even found their mates.
Suddenly, Claire started sniffing around. “Oh my moon goddess! That delicious smell, where is it coming from?” Next thing all we see is this tall bronzed man at our table, looking at Claire with pure love in his eyes.
“Hello beautiful, I’m Matt, beta of the Black Moon pack. What is your name princess?” The Beta asked her. “Claire Wright.” “My beautiful Claire, will you mind if I sit alongside with you?” She blushed slightly, nodding her head. They start talking to each other while everyone else is looking for their mates or already found them. I was sad that I could not find my mate. What if I do not find him? What if he did not came? All these thoughts were making me feel sad, feeling unworthy somehow. Did my parents know I wasn’t going to find him? I leave the dining area alone, seeing as Monique was talking with a guy. Probably her mate. I decided to take a short walk along side the small river. While I was lost in my thoughts, I heard rustling behind some bushes. Scared that it might be a rogue, I ran back to my tent. Making sure I wasn’t being followed, I run back inside. I try to calm myself down, before anyone sees me and asks what is wrong. Once I was calmed enough, I go back outside to meet my friends. I see them with their mates talking, so I head over.
“Oh my moon goddess Liz, where you went off too? We were all looking for you since you disappeared from dinner.” Monique says. “Sorry guys. I just had to get some fresh air. I was just lost in my thoughts. But I’m though, so don’t worry about me.” I replied. They both look at me with the look, both knowing too well how I must be feeling right now. I change the topic before they start questioning me again. “So, you both found your mates?” I ask. They both got excited, introducing me to their mates. Claire’s mate is Matt, Beta from the Black Moon pack, while Monique’s mate is Alex, Alpha of Silver Moon pack. We settled down in the logs talking and laughing. Night already came, so we all decided to meet up for breakfast tomorrow.
“I can’t believe this will be our last weekend together.” I tell my friends. “I’m going to miss you guys so much.” We hug each other, crying silently, knowing they may not see me again. This is my last chance to get away from my parents, to be with my mate and be happy. If I don’t find him, I won’t be able to come back.
“Come on Liz, there is still a chance you will find your mate tomorrow. We will help you, and we know for sure our mates will help us too. You are not alone in this Liz. We got your back all the way.” Monique replies.
“Thanks guys, I really hope I do get to find him. Anyways, lets go to sleep now. Tomorrow will be another day.” I said. So we all get ready for bed and sleep. Tomorrow will be a new day I think to myself.
