Chapter 7

“I’ll meet you in a bit OK.” I tell the girls. They left and I was on my own for a bit. To be honest, I needed some alone time, still sad that I have not found my mate. The thought itself was depressing as it is. Once I was able to stop thinking that way, I got myself ready and went to get some breakfast.

As I enter, I was hit with this delicious smell of forest wood and fresh rain. As I walk closer to the table my friends where at, I saw him. Tall, handsome, gorgeous hazel green eyes and beautiful soft curls. I stopped right in front of him, looking at each other’s eyes, not paying attention to one. “Hi,” I breathed out shyly. He grabs my hand, feeling the sparks run all over me. I blushed, smiling, feeling all giddy of the thought of finally finding him. He speaks to me, “Hello beautiful, I’m Shawn, Alpha of the Black Moon. What is your name?” I look up to him, “Elizabeth, but my friends call me Liz.” I replied.

He takes me towards him, sits me down next to him. We spend the whole time getting to know each other, it was amazing. I was beyond happy. Once breakfast was over, we decided to take a stroll, still holding hands. My friends and their mates went along as well, getting to know everyone.

Monique’s mate is Alpha Alex, from the Silver Moon pack. Which makes Monique a Luna. Claire’s mate is Matt, Beta of Black Moon, where my mate Shawn is Alpha. Making Claire Beta-female and I a Luna. After this ceremony, we no longer belong to Red Moon pack, though that idea makes us sad.

“I’m glad we found our mates guys. I’m just going to be sad that we are not going to see each other everyday though.” Monique says sadly. It is true, Monique is with an Alpha from another pack, while as for Claire and I are in the same pack.

“We have to visit each other at least once a week.” Claire replies. We all agreed. We cannot lose our friendship. They are my best friends. We hug each other tightly, while our mates look at us, trying not to laugh. “What’s so funny?” I ask. My mate looks at me and says, “Nothing really, just the fact that Alpha Alex is our neighboring pack and also my cousin.” We stood there shocked. Next thing you know, we were screaming and jumping around like crazy teenagers.  After finally calming down, our mates take us for another stroll, enjoying the day before going back. The guys ask us many questions about our families. When Shawn asks me about my parents, I stay quiet. I was not sure how to tell him, that my parents do not want me to have a mate, they did not even want me to come in the first place. At the thought of them, I get scared. What if they came tomorrow during the ceremony and takes me away from Shawn? I do not want to go back home. I want to be happy.

Shawn nudges me out of my thoughts. “What’s wrong princess?” He asks. I look at my friends ‘Should I tell him the truth?’ I mind link them. They both nod at the same time. I look at Shawn and we all sit down at the edge of the river. “The thing is my parents are not the type that are caring and loving when it comes to me. They even objected the idea of coming here. If it were not for our Alpha and Luna, at these moments, I would be in my room miserable.” I tell the guys. “Why are your parents like that?” Matt asks.

“They were young when they had me, not even in their 20’s yet. Plus, they are not even true mates. They only got together because they were expecting me. They didn’t even go to the ceremony themselves after having me, since then, they always hated me.” I look down at my hands, feeling ashamed of how I was living until then. Shawn holds my hands, making me look at him. “It is not your fault that your parents were stupid enough to do it without thinking of the consequences, but I do thank them in giving you life, as they have given me the most precious mate ever.” He smiles down at me, making me loved and secured with him by my side. We stay like that for a while, enjoying the silence. We did not want to break our little bubble, but we knew we had to head back to the site.

When we got back, we went our separate ways to get ready for a reunion they are holding. We hurried up to meet our mates again, not wanting to be away from them for too long. I was surprised how attach I was to Shawn so quick since we met this morning. We all sat down together, waiting for it to start.

A tall beautiful lady steps up and addresses us. “Good evening everyone. Thank you all for coming to this year’s ceremony. As you all know, for those who are lucky enough in finding their mates, will be celebrated tomorrow at the banquet before their departure. After it is over, they will be heading to their new destination. But first, you must talk to your Alphas’ of your plans before the end of the day. Any questions?” Many pack members raised their hands and ask the lady many questions. After she let us go, all six of us wen to find Alpha Damien and Luna Marie.

We found them by the entrance of their tent, quietly talking to each other. They both look up when they saw us approach them. “Well, isn’t this a surprise.” Luna Marie said. She smiled at us happily. “Good evening Luna, Alpha. We came because we all found our mates and came to talk to you about our plans in leaving with them after the ceremony.” Replies Monique. We all look at them, patiently.

“I’m glad you three were able to find your mates, especially you Elizabeth.” Alpha Damien looks at me, like a proud father looking at his daughter. I had always seen the Luna and Alpha as true parents, unlike my biological ones. They had always been there for me, no matter what.

“Liz, honey, whatever what happen tomorrow, don’t look back. Go with your mate and be happy. You really deserve it sweetie.” Luna tells me.

I look at her confused, “What’s going to happen Luna?” I asked. I wished I never asked.

“Your parents are coming tomorrow. They believe that you haven’t found your true mate, so they are coming to take you away and make sure you never come back to a single ceremony after that.”

I stood shocked after hearing this. If they think I have not found my mate, imagine what is going to happen when they see Shawn.

“Don’t worry honey, your parents won’t do anything as soon as they see you with your mate at your side, they won’t dare to take you away from him. As a matter of fact, starting right now, none of you will be away from your mates until this is over. Even if it means using the lady’s room. Now get your stuff and move in with your mates. Don’t be away from their sight understood?” “Yes Alpha.”

We soon had our stuff at our mates’ tents, which was basically next to each other. I was worried. What did my parents have plan for tomorrow? I could not shake off the bad feeling I was having, which worries me even more. If I did not know my parents well, they would stoop at any level to make me miserable.

“Do not worry Princess, I’m here to protect you always. I will not allow no one, not even your parents, take you away from me. I will always be here for you.” Shawn says, trying to reassure me, which pretty much works. Tonight, will be the first night sleeping with my mate, and to say I am not nervous is an understatement. I was anxious, but also felt safe with him. Let’s get this night started, I said to myself.
