His Chosen One

Chapter One

Who would have thought that I wouldn’t be going to the chosen ceremony? Want to know why? Let me tell you a little story, my parents hate me. They shouldn’t, right? Guess again. They do. It sucks big time. They pretty much wish I wasn’t even born.  It’s not like I chose to be here. They were young, stupid and didn’t thought of their consequences. Now they are stuck with me. Anyways, for them I’m pretty much a slave. I do all their chores before they even come home from work. I get to go to school, so I can escape for a while from this hell hole.

In school, I have two best friends. Claire and Monique. They have been by my side since day one. They both know how much I suffer at home. Everyday we always meet up in the park across from home and we walk together to school. Thankfully, we don’t get bullied. You see, our pack isn’t like others that bully people’s misfortunes. That’s right, I said pack. I belong to a pack of werewolves. Our leader is called Alpha, while his mate is our Luna. When we turn 17, we can sense who is our mate. A mate is our soulmate, our other half. The Moon Goddess chooses them for us.

Anyways, luckily for me, the pack knows about what I go through home. It’s no secret to be honest. I’m just glad I don’t get made fun of. On the contrast, they really help me out when they know I’m in a tight spot. It doesn’t happen often, thank moon goddess, but it’s still nice to know that the pack is there for me.

Oh, right, the chosen ceremony, every year they hold the ceremony where other packs meet in one location to find their mates starting at the age of 17. If by chance they don’t find them, they will keep coming till they are 23, and by the following year, if they chose to, they chose a chosen mate who also has not found their mate. That way, nobody gets to be left behind. However, this year I turn 17 right before the ceremony, and my lovely parents prohibited me to go. Oh whoopee.

“ Earth to Elizabeth!!!”- Claire says to me. Meanwhile, Monique just laughs at us. “Sorry guys, I was just Thinking.” I said. “ What’s wrong girl? We haven’t seen you this thoughtful since Eric asked you out last year. WAIT! He asked you out again?!” Monique exclaims.

“No he did not! Anyways, that’s not the case. My parents prohibited me into going to the chosen ceremony this year, and I’m just thinking why? This year of all years. Its just so frustrating that I’m even more than ready to go to the ceremony, but I don’t want to get in trouble with them.” I said to my friends. They knew right away that my parents were trying to make me unhappy as them. It’s just isn’t fair. If there is just only a way to go but still not getting into trouble with them.

“Good morning girls.” My guardian angel! I should have known. “ Good morning Luna” we said. “ Why are three lovely ladies still not in school?” “ We were on our way Luna.” Claire said, “ It wont start till 30 minutes.” “Good then, I have time to talk to you three.” Our Luna said to us. We all look at each other. Normally, we only get to talk to our Luna and Alpha one on one unless we are in trouble. We eye each other again, thinking what in the world we did.

“ Liz, I have an understanding that you turn 17 this year correct?” “Yes Luna, right before the ceremony.” I replied. “ However, your parents are not going to let you go to the ceremony?” I'm speechless. My mouth is literally hanging open. Clare elbows me right away. “Y-yes Luna. But how did you know?” I ask. “ Don’t you worry my dear. Trust me when I say I have my own little secrets to knowing everything.” She tells us with a sparkle in her eyes. It seems she is being mischievous, the way she smiles and has that weird look on her face. She even sounds like a teenager.

“Well, off you go girls. Don’t want to be late for first period.” “Yes Luna.”  And we ran off to school. Once we got there we all talked excitedly. “ Did you heard that Liz? Luna is going to help you go to the ceremony!” Exclaimed Monique. I was excited that our Luna is going to help me out. If the Luna says I can go, that means my parents can’t do anything when it comes to our Luna and alpha. I was so happy. We went to class laughing and all giddy about it. And off we started our day great.
