The Betrayal

*Narrator's POV* 

What Adrianna and Max didn't know was that they had one year until the witches found out. They had one year to prepare and they better not waste it. 

Adrianna's POV* 

I finally knew it all. Who I am, what I could do. Yet it all seemed to fit. Like this is where I belonged. With Max, my mate by my side. 

After the day that Max told me everything we started to train. Everyday. To bring me to my fullest potential. He's been training me nonstop for two months ow and I'm growing tired. 

It's like he has a never ending energy to train. I also have been training with the black lightning aka The Sea moon pack as well. 

That's our pack. However I have yet to have been formally named as luna of our pack. 

That's because we haven't.... fully mated yet. Trust me it's not like I don't want to it's Max. 

Every time I kiss him he kisses me back but eventually brings me back to work. He's constantly stopping anything from happening. Meanwhile Alissa and I are growing more impatient by the day. 

Alissa though doesn't like my plan has reluctantly agreed. We have to make Max realize that he was hurting us. What better way than leaving him alone for the entire day.  

Max has despised Jonah ever since he first saw me with me. Every time since that Jonah's talked to me he'll glare at him like Jonah is gonna take me away from him. 

I love Jonah to death. Ever since we've met, even though I used to have feelings for him, he's been there for me. Not like Max will ever find out my past feelings for Jonah. He'll completely lose it if he did. 

So today I avoided Max everywhere. Didn't look at him, didn't talk to him. Nor allowed him to mind link with me. Completely cut him off for the day. 

However I walked home with Jonah. 

"Hey Jonah!"

"Hey Adri."

"Wanna walk home with me? Max has been a pain lately and we haven't gotten a chance to talk."

"Sure. So I heard that your bestie Victoria has been pinning to get you back for something care to explain?"

Ugh. Always the joker Jonah. He knew I couldn't stand her. However I was curious. What could she ever think she could do to me?

"You know I despise her don't call her that. anyway a couple of months ago she was all over Max so I snapped. What the hell does she think she can do to me."

"I don't know I over heard her say you would die when you saw what she would do."

"I doubt she could do anything to me."

"Oh that's my cousin. I gotta go Adri. See you later."

Jonah hugged me and left. I thought a noise and I turned around to see what made me go still. Deadly still. 

Victoria was kissing Max. Now I know that alone triggered me. Who did she think she was?! But I couldn't focus on that much longer. What I did notice was that... Max was kissing her back. 

Just as they got up for air Max looked up as though he sensed me looking. We made eye contact and he realized that I was there to watch. 

I couldn't give Victoria the satisfaction to see me cry. She had managed to get my mate to cheat on me. 

So I turned around and walked home. All I had wanted is for Max to want me. To be with me. Yes to be protective but still be okay with my friends. 

I wanted to be his luna. To finish mating. But no, he had to be fooling around with Victoria. Knowing I had to be around somewhere. 

I got home and went straight to my room. I got a suitcase and filled it with essentials. Clothes, toothbrush and tooth paste, hair brush, head phones, hair ties and a few extra things. 

I immediately knew who to call.  

"Hey Cat... could I stay over for a while? I just... I can't stay in my house for a while."

"Of course Adri. However long you need."

"Thank you Cat. I'll be there soon."

With that I hung up the phone, called a taxi and went down the stairs. 

My parents weren't home luckily so that made it a bit easier. I just wrote them a note. 

Mom and Dad, 

                        I have to go for a little while. I can't stay here. I need to be far from Max. I won't be telling you where I'm going because I know Max will ask. Just know I'm safe. I love you both and hope you won't be too mad.

I put the note on the kitchen table and with that I heard the taxi's horn sound. I left the house and into the taxi which led me to Cat's house. 

I had to be away from Max. With what he did he didn't deserve to see Alissa and I hurting.
