Bang Chan's PoV
"Doing good, Chan! Finish with 400 crunches and stretch, then you're done!" my trainer pats my shoulder and hands me my water. "Thanks, Coach." I hate crunches, but I need them to maintain my abs. I focus on being done instead of the pain. "397, 398, 399, 400! All done!" he helps me up. I'm so dizzy, I can barely see. But I only burned 1,700 calories, I need to burn 300 more. I'll go for another run after I rehydrate. Tsk. You better not eat anything until you've burned all yesterday's calories. Don't want to gain weight and get cuts, do you? My eating disorder asks. "No," I whisper so my coach can't hear. "All right, make sure to replenish and I'll see you on Monday morning!" My coach smiles at me and leaves to train somebody else. Once I get home, I take a warm shower and weigh myself. "I've lost 2 pounds this week. That's good, just lose one more, then I can eat." I haven't eaten in 5 days and I have zero energy whatsoever. "Mom, I'm gonna take a nap, okay?" I call. She responds saying it's fine, and I fall into a deep, dreamless sleep.
Hwang Hyunjin's PoV
Only 7? Hmm, I think that 8 more is fair. You forget that you have no right to show weakness. You almost cried at school today. Only 15 is me being generous. My demons remind me. In front of that boy that you like, too. Tsk, tsk. Teart threatening to spill, I drag the blade across my arm. Once 15 new cuts decorate my arm, I put the knife back under my mattress and pull my hoodie sleeve down. "Jinnie, honey, can you come downstairs?" My mom calls. "Coming!" I walk into the kitchen and go to stand in front of my Mom. "Can you help me with dinner?"She knows I hate cooking, but she also knows how to manipulate me. She'll take away my phone, my one source of comfort that's not nicotine. "Sure, Mom."
