The evidence of Pieter Siwecki was exactly as Oscar predicted. He produced the original company records of the manufacturing process in relation to the shrimp paste, and was unshakeable in his assertion that the code etched on the bottle proved the date of manufacture.
‘I can even tell the court to whom and on what date that particular batch of our product was dispatched from our premises,’ Siwecki announced.
‘Is there any way that the records could be misleading or defective?’ Del Assandro asked plaintively when it came his turn to cross-examine.
