THE f*******: POST

501 Words
HOW TRUE IS THIS? I saw this somewhere on f*******:, and I'm sorry I can't remember the author: Give 50,000naira to a Secondary School dropout and watch him buy a stove, a frying pan, cooking oil and other things to start an Indomie business. In just three years, the young man will have a wife, a plot of land worth 1million naira, a Tokunbo car, a plasma TV, sofa, bed, etc in his two-bedroom house. Give 1million naira to most University graduates and watch them buy Samsung Galaxy or iPhones and several pairs of skinny jeans, take their numerous girlfriends out, take selfies and post them on f*******:, Twitter and i********:. In less than two years, they will be buying Indomie on credit from the Secondary School dropout and paying rent or staying in their parents' house. (Copied) MY POST ON FACEBOOK This is a rejoinder to someone who read my post on entrepreneurship and said he did not believe what I was saying would work: The major problem that is making us not achieve our goals is lack of confidence. We lack the confidence to see impossibilities as means of spurring us to achievement. Once what is before us is outside our comfort zone, you will hear things like "it's not possible" or "it can't be done" or even an outright "it's a lie". Thankfully, the inventors of the airplane, electricity, the mobile phone, the internet and a million other inventions we are using today did not have this mindset. If they had, we would have been doomed to a life of suffering. A couple of years ago, I trained someone on the art of delivery of products. After the training, I gave her a capital of 7,000 naira. Behold, in her first month she made a profit of 32,000 naira. With an initial investment of 7,000 naira! A lot of our youths are jokers. The president called them lazy. This is not far from the truth, unfortunately. Some people think that selling bread or tea or indomie cannot make one rich! This is very very funny. It's funny because what the seller of bread, indomie, tea and egg makes per unit is way more than what MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9Mobile makes per unit of calls or data. Imagine selling bread to 200 customers daily, at a profit of 20 naira per unit. That's 4,000 naira profit daily. 4,000 naira daily is 120,000 naira profit in a month. Then look at the indomie, then the egg, and then the tea. Let's assume the seller makes another 20 naira per unit, that's an overall 60 naira. If he sells to his 200 customers, that's another whopping 12,000 naira daily! So between the bread, the tea, the indomie and the eggs, the seller can make over 300,000 naira every month! It doesn't matter what you sell, all that matters is HOW MANY CUSTOMERS patronize you. What you need is not a lot of capital, what you need is a PARADIGM SHIFT.
